Belgium political crisis due UN-Migration Pact

The Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel (Francophone liberal) has said that he will see a mandate from parliament to decide Belgium’s position on the UN Migration Pact. Mr Michel is due to attend a meeting with other World Leaders on the pact on Monday. The move came as the largest party in the federal coalition, the Flemish nationalist continued to refuse to back the Pact even if Belgium added so-called “side notes” to it.

Belgium is after Sweden and Germany the most pro-EU pro-unlimited migration pro-no borders nation. It is unlikely that Belgium will not ratify the UN pact.

UPDATE

The prime minister tendered the resignation of the federal government after socialists tabled a motion of no confidence.

King Filip is holding under consideration the resignation of the Belgian government after PM Charles Michel offered the resignation of his cabinet on Tuesday evening.  Mr Michel acted after socialists tabled a no confidence motion in his administration.  He did not await the outcome of any vote.

It can be tho. If enough states sign it and follow it it becomes international customary law and even if not signed it becomes applicable unless you’ve been clearly denouncing it since the beginning. Doesn’t Mean i’m pro not signing it but it’s not just pure soft law

I don't really like the pvda because of some comments they made about Venezuela.

And I certainly don't like the PS due to all their corruption scandals and they haven been in charge of Wallonie since forever and Flanders is clearly better off economically and socially.

I really would like to see a coalition between the liberals (MR,VLD) and the green parties
