Some of you are too harsh with Gaga and overthink too much ...

Because she’s not. Fans are somehow making this up in their minds. That’s possibly an example of the overthinking the OP is referring to.

Isn't that subjective though? :interestinga:

Like, sorry but Gaga herself made fun of acts that die out and lose their "fantasy" (her word, not mine) when she just started out. Disillusion and disappointment is something you find in all fanbases and they all discuss about what was the peak of creativity and how/if the artist(s) lost their way.

I don't know, I understand that for a lot of people it's annoying, but it's just what you get when you put a ton of people together that are talking about the same thing. You will get different opinions, and just like you guys might be annoyed by the "unnecessary" criticism, others might be annoyed by the undeservedly hyperbolic praise and positivity

She never said anything in that speech or otherwise to support that though. To outright claim she’s ashamed of her previous work (which I saw countless people do in that thread) isn’t being subjective.

Ashamed? I didn't see that lol

Like I said, I think it's more about a more general disappointment about her supposedly moving away from her "Gaga" phase, which is totally understandable and predictable even if you don't agree with that. In any case, let's keep on topic and not discuss that here. I suggest you hop into that thread itself if you wanna discuss that subject :hor:

Honestly, at the end of the day it's us who complicate things, not Gaga. We've been enough time with her to realize that she always switches things from era to era, says stuff that might contradict things she previously said, and her mood changes depends on what she's promoting. Maybe it comes naturally to her, maybe it's a PR stunt, but like who cares? :selena: She was "bashing" 'Gaga' yesterday, but we all know she'll be that exact persona in a few weeks on Enigma :selena: Don't read way too much into everything she says.

How did she bash "Gaga". She called it a superhero hat...

All she was saying that she didn't feel brave enough as Stephanie and that this daring persona "Gaga" is what gave her the confidence to be a popstar today.

Well, why don't you reply to everything else though? Like, sorry but you are being off-topic by only talking about that thread I don't wanna talk about. I only brought it up as an example...

That's how people in that thread interpret it :selena:

Well it’s not even off topic anyway because that’s what this thread is about - fans overthinking things, says so right in the title.

the problem is people finding no contentment in their own lives and putting far too much onto the popstar. So I was.

Well, if there is no reason to glorify or to demonize the things she does, we might as well pack up and go home, no? :vegas:

I don't know, this is a discussion forum about a pop star, not a fansite or a bashsite. I think we're doing just fine. Those threads you referred to were filled with interesting conversations and arguments for once, from both the "positive" and "negative" side. Why not appreciate that instead of treating it as something bad? Until it gets personal, it's no holds barred imo. That's what's fun about online conversing.

From my perspective, there's as much unjust criticism of Gaga as there is unjust excuses being made for her. The people who want both camps to shut it maybe just need to consider getting out of here. Maybe you just don't want to discuss her at all, who knows.

Haha, okay. Yes, that is true, I agree. :)

As someone who is the same age as Gaga, I am totally not the same person I was in my 20s as I am in my 30s. It's absolutely delusional to think that she won't change and evolve, even in her opinions about her own career. It's OK to admit disappointment in some of what Gaga does. I mean, I was a Madonna stan for years, and holy crap has she been disappointing multiple times. However, I think some fans take it waaaaaay too far, almost as a personal attack, and I think they need to take a few steps back and realize that Gaga is a human being and not some perfect deity.

That's true but Gaga doesn't give a **** about this forum, we do... It's our opinions that matter more than her life, or is that some shocking statement to you :messga:

We all know nothing we say is gonna impact her life or career whatsoever. That doesn't mean it's not fun or gratifying to comment on it. That's what we all do in all parts of our lives, no? It's what I do anyway, and while I'm doing it I know my opinion isn't worth a rat's ass but if everyone knows that about their opinion then it's just fun to engage in conversations and stimulate each other.

That's how I see it anyway. Like, why is it so much more valuable to you to sit here and praise her all the time or something? That's not gonna affect her life or career any more than the garbage we spout :gaycat:

Ever heard of morals?
