Will C3C be all Cole Porter songs?

Back in 2016, when Tony and GGD told us C3C was coming that year...  Tony said the album would be all Cole Porter songs. Do you think that idea is scratched, or they’re still releasing only Cole Porters songs? If it is only his songs, which ones would you like Gaga to cover? By the way he was the one that made Anything Goes.

I'd honestly prefer for them to make a Jazz album with all original material. I don't like covers anymore. The only place I'd be ok with Gaga making covers is if she decided to make an Xmas album. But I've had it with covers tbh

Then she’d be writing all of it because Tony only sings covers. Although, I think they could get more creative with their standards and the arrangements to make them more their own. C2C, as much as I love it, is a fairly “by the numbers collection, Nature Boy aside which has some interesting elements and stylistic choices namely by Gaga with the curious delicacy she brings to the song.

Honestly I'm not here for another standards album. I'd love an original jazz album though with maybe a couple standards that are arranged creatively. Idk C2C felt so much like Tony's vision, I'd want the sequel to be very Gaga.

What’s wrong with her covers? They’re songs a lot of the younger generation haven’t even heard, from the Great American Songbook. It’s great she bought jazz to the forefront

Did I say there was something wrong with her covers? NO. I loved C2C more than you probably will ever. I'm one of the few stans of that album here and it is well documented. I just want something different. She hasn't done much Xmas song covers. I'd like a full body of work of those (if we are talking about covering music). Other than that i'd much rather she creates her own jazz songs with Tony. Wouldnt you rather Gaga create her own Jazz standards or do you not think she is capable of doing so? I think she's do a marvelous job at making her own jazz songs and it would be a new thing! Would be fun too!

I know she’s very nervous about putting out her own jazz music. Most older people who like jazz enjoy the songs they already know by heart, and jazz culture doesn’t seem to prioritize new music. I think she could make beautiful jazz songs though, sometimes I wish she just put everything out there, I was really down when I found out Paradise wasn’t going to be released in 2014. Hopefully for her jazz shows she’ll perform it.

Very true. Jazz fans can be a bit apprehensive about new material. I just hope she finds the courage to do it! Especially if she gets a co-sign by Tony with her on those songs I think the older audience would be more open to listening to her own original material with Tony there with her! It'd be awesome  Yeah I'd also like for her to maybe re release C2C and add on any songs she didn't already add perhaps. It could also help the record reach 1M pure sales in the US in time since the record is already at like 750k+ I believe.

You didn’t sound very approving that’s all. Maybe it’s the way you worded it?

Don’t assume either. C2C is my second most played Gaga album this year, according to my last.fm account👍🏼 Where does it place on yours, since presumptive comparisons have been drawn.

Nowhere in my original post did I say I did not like the covers she delivered thus far. I simply stated I am satisfied and done with covers in general because there have been more than enough. You chose to interpret it that way. My wording was fine. Maybe a bit too strongly worded? but it was fine.

That being said I think we both love her covers for sure  I just personally want something different if she is going to do more covers. Xmas songs would be great.
