Oscars: Gaga VS Other Contenders

So I just watched this ET Canada clip about Gaga with all the other hot contenders for the Oscars and it started out fine, the hosts were Googoo for Gaga... but then they stated she “should not win” because she played a role that is who she is... I damn near went mad. I can guarantee others who have won an Oscar played roles that were relative to who they were such as a mom, a dad, a dark horse in life, an elderly person and so on. 

Yeah, she may have played a singer, but to me the emphasis of ASIB is a boy and a girl who have internal and external relationship hardships. In real life does Gaga go by Ally and is just now blooming, or is she dating someone that’s openly an alcoholic? No.

Look, if someone else deserves to win it should be based off the overall performance, not the role in which they played IMO.

Those people at ET Canada hate Gaga, since they think Single Ladies is a way better video than Bad Romance, when Single Ladies is so basic....its just dancing, while BR has dancing, story and art.

I think this perception has been on Gaga's mind (and Bradley's, and Warner Bros PR people), because right from the beginning of the press stuff they have all been constantly talking about how different Ally is to Gaga, how hard she worked to craft the character etc.

Hopefully it won't be too big of a stumbling block for her because I think anyone who has actually watched the movie will realize there is much more in that performance than the ability to sing.
