The reason Shallow has not been promoted with performances

I think the reason She and Bradley haven't gone to TV to perform is because they want the oscar performance to be the most special it can get. If they had sang it, for instance, on SNL, and then they kind of did the same on the Oscars it wouldn't feel as special for the latter as it is going to be, being the first performance of the ASIB era. And we know what she wants the most this era.

Not sure if that's threadworthy but anyway I want to know what you think of it.

My impression is that Bradley doesn't want to sing any of the songs on a stage ever again.  I would bet that we'll be watching Gaga sing INLA on Oscar night.

This would be a disaster. IWLNA is not even nearly as iconic. Shallow is the trademark of ASIB.

“And if “Shallow” is nominated for an Oscar for best song, Gaga says she’ll perform it at the ceremony. “One hundred percent,” she says. In fact, Cooper reveals that he has plans to sing the duet live with Gaga. “We talked about that actually, because I’m such a maniac,” Cooper says. “I started texting her the whole pitch of how we should do it. So we’ll see. There might be a cool, unorthodox way we could perform it.”

INLA is musically much better in terms of quality than Shallow so there’s that.. Also Shallow can be nominated but she can perform INLA, or she can do Shallow by herself like n the tour scene... Bradley made it pretty clear that he doesn’t want to perform any if the songs from the movie - ever again..

EDIT: Apparently he changed his mind today in a interview....... :huntyga:

What? He really said that? That would be amazing tho! But every interview I watched he said he never wants to perform live again :selena:

Literally everything in this post is so irrelevant. :laughga: Who decided what's better musically, and based on what arguments? IWLNA is literally a copy (a good one for sure) of I Will Always Love you and Without You. Shallow is unique and doesn't sound similar to anything that is/was on the radio or comes from a movie soundtrack. Also, yeah, people already told you that Bradley made it pretty clear that he already has a performance lined up in his mind :huntyga:

What? :saladga: First of all - common sense decides about quality of song. I’ll Never Love Again has much better instrumentals, lyrics, emotions, meaning... So there’s that.. Also it is far from I Will Always Love You. Gaga fans saying it’s a copy of that song is kinda tragic because it’s not. And yeah watch his recent interviews where he literally said “I don’t think I want to sing EVER AGAIN” - that doesn’t make me a hypocrite, but it surely makes him one :trollga: And thank you for taking time for my “irrelevant” reply :staymad:

They maybe don't want to shove it down people's throats so much and want it to be more of a grower as opposed to doing a big performance and having all the sales rush in on one week. I think the runaway success of Shallow is proof that you don't need over-promotion to sell if the quality is good. I'd also imagine that Bradley feels a bit concerned about performing live as singing is not his full-time profession and the way he's singing is made specifically for this character, so he maybe wants to save himself for Oscars night. I might be mistaken, but I believe that songs from movies in general don't get lots of promotion with live performances, other than maybe Let It Go and Can't Stop The Feeling, but maybe kids movies are a different matter. That's why when the nominees are announced, there's usually only one or two we've heard of. Studios probably prefer to keep the majority of their money for award campaigning as opposed to sending the artists to perform it live all over the place.

The promo of the song has been flawless. The only thing lacking is radio but eff them tbh :huntyga: The song has been doing amazing. I can't wait till Oscars night if it gets nominated.

Kindness rules all.
