StrawberryBlond 15,555
@lego Very immature reaction there. It's so typical that you'd demand sources from me only to immediately refuse to talk to me the instant I produce them. I put a lot of effort into my posts, the least you could do is read what I have to say. The fact is that such statistics will never come from a liberal source because it's not part of their agenda, so what exactly do you want of me? Consuming both sides of a debate is what helps me form a coherent opinion instead of a one-sided one. And for the record, you always miss my posts disapproving of Trump, Nazis, white supremacy, ethnostates, etc. But you pounce on anything that goes against your agenda. I know your game very well. 19 minutes ago, Morphine Prince said: Hate crimes due to radical Islamic views are the least of our worries in the US yet are the group mostly demonized in the media and by people. lego 44,165
Here’s review of your book: The Strange Death of Europe by Douglas Murray review – gentrified xenophobia The rightwing journalist and commentator cites Enoch Powell and wants to protect white Christian Europe from ‘outsiders’ Gentrification comes for everything eventually. Down-at-heel neighbourhoods, peasant cuisines, football: all have been polished up for middle-class consumption. So perhaps it was only a matter of time before someone gave xenophobia the same treatment. Naked racism may still be unacceptable in polite society. But post-Brexit vote there’s a clear market emerging for a slightly posher, better-read, more respectable way of saying that you’d rather not live next door to Romanians or think Muslims are coming to rape your womenfolk. Think Daily Mail columnist Katie Hopkins, but with longer words, and for people who wouldn’t be seen dead on an English Defence League march – although one of the more ridiculous contentions in this book by the journalist Douglas Murray is that the EDL are actually terribly misunderstood chaps, who have a point, and aren’t really to blame for the way their rallies regularly end in violence. So here it is; a book for all those who found David Goodhart’s recent arguments about “white self-interest” – or preferring one’s own ethnic grouping, which he says is definitely not the same as racism – just too woolly liberal. A proper book, with footnotes and everything, about how godless Europe is dying in front of our eyes; and all because it’s too knackered and feeble to resist the barbarian hordes, welcomed in by idiots who’d gladly trade a few beheadings for some colourful ethnic restaurants. (I paraphrase, but barely.) And it probably won’t even matter, for true believers, that it is all so badly argued. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/may/06/strange-death-europe-immigration-xenophobia FreePalestine

You cite a hateful book as your source and you expect people to believe you’re not biased. I meant people on this forum and liberals are not focusing on it. I thought liberals were about discovering truth, no matter how awful it is. But now they're putting themselves in their little bubble and refusing to research any facts that they disagree with and even debate facts if it doesn't support what they'd like to think is true. I don't align myself with the right, I just prefer to consume both sides of a debate, I don't get all my news from one source (I believe news is news and liberal news has been exposed as lying too). I'm also someone who, once evidence is put in front of me, there's no going back. I don't try to unsee it or debate it away. Facts are facts, even when they're uncomfortable. This is what drew me to liberalism in the first place - they had the guts to research, dig deeper, find what the media didn't want us to know and accepted the uncomfortable truth. Now it's the opposite and its left me feeling like I don't know where to turn in politics. Both sides are too extreme, both sides are ignorant and there's not much middle ground. I'm using "non-whites" as a phrase to point out that in most of these types of threads, it turns into nothing more than an excuse to bash whites and all that "whiteness" represents as if every white person is innately guilty. You say it's not but that's how it feels. I'm tired of seeing white people all reduced to one big shifting mass with no complexity while we're supposed to treat everyone else with respect and never bring up their failures, only judging them by their high points. If you think Islamaphobia is so bad, you shouldn't be bashing whites in the same ways you abhor when it's done to Muslims. For the record, I frequently do see white people referred to as Christian fundamentalists if they've committed a crime that involved religion and/or their religion was ironic given the crimes they were committing. It's a total lie that this never happens. I'm always the first to disapprove of any Christian fundamentalism, gay conversion, paedophile priests, the Vatican's hold over their city, extremist Christian cults. And I'm a believer in God myself. I treat every crime and wrongdoing equally, I don't care what race, nationality or religion you are. Fake liberals only focus on hate crimes that whites/Westerners/Christians are committing. Real liberals want to end all hate crime regardless of who's doing it. I know you said it's no excuse but you literally just used one right before it, so saying there's no excuse after it didn't work. If you tried to explain it away with any reasoning, you're using an excuse. I didn't take about right wing crimes in Europe because all that stuff has already been done before here, we already know that. I wanted to expand on a side to things that I knew no one else was going to focus on because they don't want to hear it. I don't demand that you talk about things with a right wing slant so I can take you seriously or claim your sources are biased, yet you demand me to talk about things from a left wing slant so you can take me seriously and claim my sources are biased. Not exactly fair, is it? And that book is far from hateful, but you wouldn't know that as you haven't read it. I wouldn't dream of saying such a thing about a book I'd never read. What exactly do you want from me that'll make you satisfied? Because you've yet to accept one thing I've said. 3 minutes ago, lego said: Unlike (far) right, most liberals don’t have an agenda against minorities and poc, they don’t use language which dehumanizes people who are already oppressed. Are you seriously suggesting I've done those things you've listed? Because I've never done any of them nor do I wish to. You'e seriously underestimated and misjudged me if you'd believe that to be the case. I'm not "triggered" by crimes of white nationalists, I accept them as fact without question because as I said, I can accept uncomfortable truths. It's you who has the problem of accepting facts when it concerns groups who you support. I'm the kind of person who'd report my own family to the police if they committed a crime. I don't have loyalty to people who do bad things. As such, I don't hesitate to call out criminals for what they are, I don't care what community they come from or whether I like them or not. Criminals are criminals and no one should protect them for any reason.

Look it up on GoodReads to see what the populace say about it. If you're brave enough, look up the 5 star reviews specifically - some are written by highly intelligent people. I can confirm that this reviewer highly exaggerated things and has used very manipulative wording to appeal to their liberal readership. It just goes to show that liberal fearmongering is real, just as real as conservative fearmongering. And just like conservatives, liberals will believe it without actually reading it. The bit about how he regards the EDL specifically, is close to an outright lie (he even includes a part where he says that shortly after the EDL formed, a literal Nazi from somewhere in central Europe offered to come in and take it over but Tommy Robinson refused because it wasn't what the party stood for). He also details why the EDL formed (a response to Muslim protesters disrupting a homecoming march for local soldiers) and how the local police stopped locals handing out flyers that opposed the extremism that was going on in the local mosque while simultaneously allowing the Muslims to hand out extremist flyers. I really didn't know a lot of it. I don't support EDL, by the way, even Tommy Robinson has now left, I believe, as maybe it was getting too extreme even for him. The author of this book just tells it like it is and even goes to the refugee camps and shows compassion for those there. He also details the horrors British Muslim girls go through in their communities and why it's our duty to protect them because they are our girls. Hardly the words of a man who wants Muslims out of Europe, right? Rather, it he's advocating for responsible immigration and a better system of dealing with those fleeing war than allowing them to come to a country and stay there forever, allowing the country to fill up more and more to where it can't handle the overpopulation. That's not being right wing, that's just common sense. You wouldn't invite a stranger into your house with no questions asked, so why invite anybody into your country with no questions asked? He's not anti immigrant, he just thinks immigration should be organic, controlled and the people who do come should be integrated. I didn't say it has to be reviewed by a right wing outlet, I suggested you look up the book on site that publishes reviews written by normal people who just want to read something interesting, as opposed to reviews from journalists with an agenda to push and click-baity titles to make who would never dream of willingly reading such a book. I'm sure you wouldn't take a bad review of a liberal book that was composed by a conservative source seriously, right? Now who's the biased one? Notice how you're calling it a Muslim hate book without even reading it? By the way, I got the recently re-printed edition that contains an afterword covering the Westminster Bridge attack, the Manchester attack, the London knife attack as well as a response to the book's reception. He said not only was he blown away by how many people had read and agreed with it but how he was surprised that his facts were not contested. That's how well-researched it is. A review on the back cover actually said: "Liberals will try to argue with him but they will have to argue harder than they've ever argued before." Your point about how he doesn't genuinely care about the British Muslim girls is also laughable as you haven't read it and are basing your view completely on what you perceive to be in the book rather than a reflection of what it actually contains. I haven't fallen for anything. You are the one who has fallen for the liberal herd mentality of just believing anything a liberal says must be true without discovering how truthful and unbiased they were being. Yeah, we're done here because you think you've won when you haven't really. And the idea of whiteness was attacked in this thread, as it always is. It's not so much an attack against the actual ones committing the crimes, it's an attack against the idea of whiteness as a whole. The term "hate crime" is synonymous with "white nationalism" in a lot of liberal minds, so as soon as they hear it, they immediately respond with stuff about evil whites without actually looking into who was committing the crimes because they love nothing more than an excuse to bash whites. Liberals have the same "dog whistles" that you claim conservatives have. 13 hours ago, Whispering said: I’m replying to the actual article and evidence, not trying to defend white nationalists. Liberals have their issues, most radical antisemitism in America is from right wingers, and you're the only one trying to make this a liberal vs conservative thing. That was everyone's assumption, though. So much for liberals always looking at evidence before rushing in. They pick through conservative sources with a thin-toothed comb but they see a headline about hate crime and don't even need to read the article before rushing in with "white nationalists are a virus" type of comments. It's amazing how a headline that speaks your political language makes people less likely to look at a situation fairly and logically. I'm sure that the majority of people responding to that article most likely didn't read all of it. Not saying it didn't live up to what they were expecting but that doesn't change the fact that they just saw something they agreed with and automatically believed it according to what they thought it consisted of. I didn't "dig up" this book, I came across it in a bookshop and when I saw the mention of anti-Semetic hate crimes mentioned here, it reminded me of a chapter I'd read. The death of Europe is a dramatised title to grab attention, obviously, but the contents within it are all based on real news stories and studies and isn't written hatefully at all, but intellectually and fairly. It was focusing more on the dangerous side of immigration and supported the healthier side. The facts quoted in it could also be easily interpreted however the viewer wanted them to be. For the record, I've seen many a liberal make excuses for immigrant criminals to explain away these harsh realities yet they don't have a similar lax attitude towards locals. But it can be a liberal vs. conservative thing because hate crime is viewed differently depending on which side you're on. Each side likes to focus on one more than the other when we should be looking at both as a bigger picture.

Immigrants violence against jews is also minimal, especially in the US, it exist, but not something to really be scared about.. most of the violence of Islamic extremest were against white citizens of the specific countries and not necessarily against Jews, was pretty random. I said it like a few years ago and people laughed at me, but the love and admiration for Hitler started like 3-4 years ago, quietly, in social medias and in places like 4chan and 9gag and people just saw them as a dark joke and look where we are now.. Just go looking for the one particular reply and you'll know what one I mean. I can comprehend it and I realise it's a problem as much as you do. I'm not denying its existence, just that there's more than white nationalists committing hate crimes and we shouldn't rush out to assume. You're about the third person who's accused me of trying to defend white nationalists. I've repeated each time that I'm not and never will be for any kind of racial supremacy. You're merely misinterpreted my pointing out of a more complex variety of hate criminals with defence but I can assure you, it was nothing of the sort. No, white nationalism does not equal whiteness but unfortunately, that's the tack I've seen a lot of liberals take lately - the belief that all white people have an innate evil within them, that they all secretly aim to control and oppress minorities to put themselves on top. The reality is, most white people don't have any form of control over others nor are they racist. They're just trying to get by in life, make a decent living, put a roof over their heads, put food on the table, look after their kids. You know, just like minorities are doing. We're too focused trying to keep ourselves going than to try to make others lives worse. So, I'm trying to destroy the notion that only whites can commit hate crime and the assumptions this brings. That's all.
