People including A Star Is Born songs...

Shallow is Gaga's biggest hit since ARTPOP and hit #1 in 13 national charts. Is one of Gaga's biggest hits and I can't believe a gagadaily user denies this.

Based on their chart peaks on US alone, one could argue that Shallow is bigger than DWUW and ARUTW bigger than The Cure. :ohwell:

Shallow is Gagas biggest hit here since like BTW and Shallow looks like it could outdo BTW in terms of sales here.

It feels so because it all happened too fast maybe. After a while everything will sink in and you will agree. :ohwell:

I don't think so.. I just associate them too much with Ally rather than Gaga's actual singles

Gaga is credited for them, and to an extent, represent who she is as an artist at this moment. When people hear them, they think of Lady Gaga. They are her songs at the end of the day.

One could argue that even Gaga's voice sounds different in them but this is how GH albums are. GH albums are not like regular albums where one song flows from another and they all have the same style. They are meant to include songs from different eras and phases of that artists career, with the criteria of being commercially successful - criteria which Shallow meets.

I know but the movie and it's soundtrack feel like a separate spectacle in her career, aside from her albums and solo work

I see IWALY differently because I had no idea it was from a soundtrack and I'm not familiar with the movie it's from. But with Shallow, I've seen the movie so see it differently?
