OH WOW

Shallow is the longest running female #1 in Australia since Havana

“Shallow” and it’s parent soundtrack ‘A Star is Born’ hold the tops of both the single and album charts for a third week, the last time that a single and its soundtrack held for this long was back in late February of 2015 when ’50 Shades of Grey’ and its lead single “Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding held the tops of both charts for three weeks too. Next week will be the ten year anniversary since Lady Gaga’s second and longest running No.1 song “Poker Face” (from 17-Nov, 2008 for 8 weeks), and with a third week at the top for “Shallow” it increases her tally of weeks at No.1 this decade to now four, moving her up to equal 25th on the list for ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles; 2010’s’ alongside Jason DeRulo (3 No.1, 4 weeks in total), while on the list for ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles (1940 to 2018) she moves from 74th to now equal 63rd with an overall total of 13 weeks at the summit here, putting her in equal stead with Taylor Swift (5 #1’s), Lionel Richie (3 #1’s) and Doris Day (2 #1’s).

And with “Shallow” holding for a third week it’s the longest stay at No.1 for a female singer since Camila Cabello and her “Havana” track logged three weeks at the summit from the 20th of November, 2017.

Ok, the enigma is solved... If you consider every little station and not only the largest as in published (the ones that are actually tracked), the gains are +0.245 (AC), +0.004 (POP) and +0.071 (HAC) --> +0.320 :wtfga:

I am so glad that radio works differently in Europe and Australia than in the US. It's less political, less ageism and they do not care if the sound is not trendy enough. They gave Shallow the chance because people love it and not because some big radio managers think that it would not fit into radio.

I think this is why it is smashing in Austria. Because it is unconventional and different and it sounds fresh. People want a change in sound as charts consists mostly of (local) rap acts and EDM sounds here in Austria.

I've been thinking about Gaga's house and her mental health all day idk suddenly I don't even care about all the success she had with ASIB
