I said if credible allegations are made against you, then yes you'll probably lose your job, which is normal. Losing job isn't going to jail. Trial standards "innocent until proven guilty" don't apply there. And most employers don't want to take the risk with keeping someone accused of sexual assault in their work environment. They won't fire you based on rumors, but if allegations are credible as Dr. Ford's emerge, then yes you'd be fired and rightly so. Then please enlighten me (I mean this I really want to know) as to the definition of "credible". You admit it doesn't mean proven to be true, right? So then what is it? What separates a "credible" accusation from on that isn't? Do you mean then that if I accused you of, for example, doing something that was very implausible like punching me in the face last Tuesday (I'm assuming we don't even live in the same country and you were not in my city last Tuesday) that would be not "credible" because its so implausible? How about IF I actually knew you and we attended a social gathering filled with people who could attest to the fact we were both there, and I claimed you groped me in the bathroom, would that be "credible" because we could both be proven to be there? You present yourself at the border and REQUEST entry based on asylum claim. You'll be interviewed afterwards to determine whether you meet the credible fear standards or not.
