What is absolutely horrific is that this post implies that it is OK to put children in cages, separate them from their families indefinitely, and cause them irreparable psychological damage because their parents desperately wanted them to have a better life and sought asylum (which is not illegal). People are not illegal. 

What Shoful wants you to know is that his/her money is more important to them than the ethical treatment of children & their parents. You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself. 

Dr. Ford absolutely had evidence, and she did everything right. Advice and consent in the Senate is a political process, not a legal one. "Innocent until proven guilty" is a legal concept. The Senate loos for someone who can be honest and impartial -- Kavanaugh displayed NEITHER of those. Instead, in response to Ford's accusation, he blamed it on the Clintons, yelled at Democrats Senators and was unbelievably rude, and lied repeatedly to serve his own interest. We know this because him and his friends bragged endlessly for years about how much they drank in high school and college and how often each of them blacked-out. If you think that is acceptable behavior of a Supreme Court Justice, you are truly as depraved as you seem.

Careful with your sources, ive seen all over reddit (too lazy to get links) that this "energization of republicans" is either fake or too little. And the blue wave actually got stronger with tha Kavanaugh mess. 

Its almost certain we will take the house at least.

You guys, you guys, toxic communication is getting us no where. Let's not denigrate each other. I know it's really difficult when we are being pit against each other by media outlets (far left and far right). Let's all just agree that we want the best for our country and that we will all get out and vote. Let us not be apathetic because it feels overwhelming. Let us agree that we want leaders who:

- Are dignified

- Honest

- Experienced

- Willing to work with the other side to find common ground

Let us agree that electing more people who are so toxic and extreme is not helping America. We need individual voices to be heard, and we need to stop voter suppression and election meddling. Trump is exactly what we asked for after putting celebrities on a pedestal for so long. Let's get back to basics.

Having the blue wave on TV and being talked about is detrimental to the actual potency of a "blue wave", so while I don't support conspiracy theories, it's good that this late in the game things aren't being toted like it's over. A fake republican wave drives down republican votes & drives up democratic turnout.

I don't think kava is really the swaying factor for many, maybe energize a few Republicans as you said but hardly the determining factor in the midterms

The real kii there is that the often poor and majorly white & elderly people that vote Republican for their stance on "the economy" are some of the first people to get screwed over in that department. 

Conservative economics aren't inherently bad, but a lot of the way that the GOP markets their views on the economy are overly simplistic (think "we're small government/less spending/less government interference into the market") and often downright misleading or false (see, their taxes policies in the last few years and who it's affecting the most)

OT:

All we can really do is encourage every single person we know to vote and keep people informed on the issues. I literally got people to register to vote in my state all day the last day it was open to register in time for Nov. 6th. I'm not optimistic, especially in Missouri - My state. I expect Claire will lose. I literally see anti-Claire posters, ads on unrelated youtube videos, etc. its all ****ing over the place, but pro Claire stuff seems lacking... and I live in a somewhat democratic sect of my state/county too  I wouldn't be surprised if Repubs. pick up 1-2 in the senate and the house gets closer to even, but doesn't flip at all with a good margin.

(While we're at it, isn't it gross how Republicans try to limit voter registration and suppress the overall vote because they know they don't ultimately always have the numbers and juts have to control turnout?  It should be bipartisan policy to encourage every single person to vote with as few impediments as possible. Day of registration, increase/unlimit provisional ballets, extend absentee ballots, declaring certain voting days National Holidays so that people can get off work, etc.)

It looks like republicans will actually make gains, and probably in the house too. I was hoping for the senate to be a tie or for democrats to take over, but that's very unlikely to happen now. This only means that Drumpf will continue to appoint both conservative federal judges and supreme court judges. LGBT rights are doomed for a long time as far as lawsuits are concerned. In-before, it becomes legal again to deny LGBT people service.

If you can vote, please don't forget about voting really! This is one of the most important elections of our lifetime. The senate is the most important part of the government (even more important than the presidency imo).

Eh, I'd wait for any polls tbh the thing JUST happened. Closer to election day would be more apt. People are very very dumb and very easily swayed so polls should be taken with a grain of salt anyway. After all, nearly every poll, even the most reliable said Clinton would win. Polling is only as good as the data it draws from and for whatever reason it seems like the U.S. is notoriously bad at polling lol

NK has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to honor the deal, they are still building and testing nuclear weapons.

Trade deals? He barely changed anything about NAFTA, Mex and Canada got most of what they wanted. It was just a mask to show something in the midterms.

 

And besides, either way all of that means **** when the man is STILL DENYING CLIMATE CHANGE. If you wanna support him despite of that when the climate situation is reaching it worst critical point, then sorry but you are a monster just like him. Climate and the environment should be the absolute priority of every human being that lives in a democracy, not petty politics

Dr. Ford has absolutely no evidence? Let me explain to you how sexual assault happens:

Sexual Assault usually takes place in the most intimate, darkest place, where there usually are no eye-witnesses. And eye-witnesses who do nothing to prevent it are considered complicit and they wouldn't like to legally endanger themselves by admitting that it happened (like Mark Judge in this case who denied seeing it happen).

Asking sexual assault victims for corroboration/witnesses is ridiculous. That's like asking them for the impossible. And this is exactly why sexual assault victims don't come forward. Because they're afraid of not believed and the shame i'll bring upon them (like in Dr. Ford's case, her ex-boyfriend going to fox news and saying she cheated on him, slandering her reputation since she became famous).

"Innocent until proven guilty" doesn't apply in job promotion cases. If you are being promoted to a job and your boss is assessing whether to go forward or not, all he/she has to do is to determine whether the allegations are credible. He doesn't have to follow due process or anything, since due process in the constitution applies to cases where there's deprivation of life, liberty or property. If we applied due process in everything, society would become chaotic. And no one can get fired from his or her job without a trial.
