The economy is continuing on almost exactly the same track as it was under Obama. Trump has done nothing to "turn it around". The only thing that's really changed is people's perception of it, mostly among conservatives, because so many of them live in a ****ing fantasy world. Only money and power is important to them sadly... "The government" is not some monolithic entity, and when you treat it as such, you're playing into Republican hands.* The government is made up of the people WE elect, and the people they appoint and hire. They have as many different perspectives as Americans as a whole do (although "electable" politicians tend to fall within a somewhat narrower range of views). Some of them are only interested in power, but some of them, believe it or not, are only interested in doing their best for the country, as they see it. And many fall in between, some mix of idealism and ambition. Pick the right ones, or someone else will pick them for you. That's not guilt-tripping, that's reality. * I can explain this at length, but it's a whole other post...

Like tearing apart immigrant families, locking children up in camps, attempted multiple times to strip people of their rights, and appointed an alleged rapist into Supreme Court. Also absolutely no one was talking about Trump in this thread, the discussion was on avoiding a Republican majority in the House and Senate. This post is laughable with no facts or basis. I’m glad you’re okay with illegal people coming into our country taking money that you earned away from you. You’ Doing great sweetie. I bet you thought that was fine until the Democrats completely switched around 2014 to saying illegal immigration is good. Look at democrats and Obama in 2008 completely supporting border defense etc. Most of the pictures that were shown in the media about those “children camps” were from Obama’s Administration 😂😂. Idk who he striped rights away from but okay. Lastly in America, its “innocent until proven guilty.” Dr. Ford had absolutely no evidence. She delayed and manipulated the system several times and left with a million dollars in goFund me. Let me just accuse you of a crime without evidence and we’ll see how you feel. People who claim asylum are not illegal. How do they take money away from me? Building the stupid wall would take money from me. Trump and his family not paying their taxes for years takes money away from me. Democrats still support border defense. They don't support sending dreamers back, splitting up families or keeping babies and toddlers away from moms claiming asylum. Innocent until proven guilty is in a court of law, not used in the court of public opinion or in a job interview. Learn the difference between facts and propaganda. This is inaccurate. The Senate was never in play for Democrats. It is SUCH a strong Republican map, and it always has been. There is no "new trend." If you're betting on D's flipping the Senate, you're doing so based on a hunch. The data has never been there to support it. At best, D's have a 1-in-4 chance of taking back the Senate; but, they have a 5-in-6 chance of taking back the House -- which would be great! Also, Heller has always been in a pretty comfortable spot. He'll likely hold onto his seat. As far as the OP's hysteria... we're gonna be just fine. It's not nothing, but it likely won't play the most significant role for a lot of people. As far as Kavanaugh goes, sure, I think it will energize a few Republicans here and there. BUT, people do not show up at midterms to say "thank you". People show up to vote because they are pissed. My understanding of the data right now is that Kav's confirmation is going to be a MUCH greater motivator for Dem's than Repub's.

Some of you need to get realistic Can someone please correct her so I don't have to? 1) The economy is not "booming". The growth rn is supported almost solely by an overvalued stock market, and we saw just last week what a MINOR increase to interest rates did to spook it (it dropped 5% in one day and nearly collapsed all together). Meanwhile, no wage growth and no/little change in underemployment. 2) NK doesn't have a president ffs. Also, NK's dictator has ALWAYS wanted to meet with the US President. WE have often decided not to because it legitimizes their regime and they don't actually follow agreements (like we saw this year -- NK has already broken all of their promises from Trump's "historic" (lmaoo) meeting!!). 3) These trade deals are not profitable hahahahahaha. Ford just announced this morning that it is losing billions and plans to lay off TONS of worker. FFS, the United Steel Workers Union (one of the largest unions in the country) is about to go on strike because they have received a $0 pay increase even though United Steel raked in $2 billion more profit thanks to the tax cut + tariffs. But as mentioned I'm not from America so people will probably tell me to stay out of discussions about american politics. Oh my god, people! Please tell me what you think the NK meeting accomplished?! We got NOTHING out of it! NK has since cheated on every provision they agreed to, yet the US has pulled out of joint military simulations with Japan. That meeting was a sh*t show!
