Solitaire 902 Posted August 15, 2012 Share Posted August 15, 2012 I love the Alien movies, and I thought alot of the BTW ball reminded me of them (the Government Hooker dance / outfit and the Bloody Mary headpiece) and I keep saying to everyone "It reminds me of Alien".. and now I know I was right. Haha. I FORGOT ABOUT THOSE! They really are Alien-esque, and I LOVE it. I hope this is the direction she's going in for this era. sobercool 0 Posted August 15, 2012 Share Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) After watching this glossy and stunning 30-second visual over 50 times (the first time being an absolute mind-blow), I'll just say the excitement I have for this film feels the same as the one I had for Bad Romance nearly 3 years ago. It all just feels so right. Scheiße will be getting the video treatment it deserves and possibly public recognition as the amazing song it is. The motif with both involved a black liquid, petroleumesque. She really did plan a lot of this as the Scheiße video, I guess. I was just thinking earlier today how the imagery for Scheiße has been so consistent from the very beginning. Even from the Mugler show. I know I've said it a hundred times, but I really really hope that this mini-era of Fame is a lead in to the beginning of ARTPOP & hints at what's ahead. Put that on ICONIC moments of Gaga's career. On another subject, I was thinking that this commercial could mean the transition between eras, just like Paparazzi was from TF to TFM (less beauty, darker looks, death themes), or Alejandro was from TFM to BTW (more serious themes, religious imagery, larger films, deeper meanings).
