Bebe 16,696 Posted October 5, 2018 Share Posted October 5, 2018 I've seen a lot of "underrated" threads pop up on this site and yet I haven't heard a peep from anyone about how good her cover of La Vie En Rose is on the soundtrack. It seems to me that all of you are sleeping on it. Yes she has performed it on the C2C tour, yes she has performed in multiple times in solo gigs, yes we already have a live recording from Tony Bennett Celebrates 90. However this version is different from her previous versions, it's the first Gaga performance we hear, it's the song that apparently got her cast in the film and this song is slowly turning into one of Gaga's go to signature tracks. For those who love the music not the bling - Gaga turns in a wonderfully campy, mesmerising and vocally impressive performance with this version of La Vie En Rose. For those who care about commercial success - no it's not a pop hit but the girl has tickets to a Jazz show in Vegas to show and they are blasting a performance of a classic she will no doubt cover for that show to millions of movie goers.
