Chickens in Malibu 7,873
Let's put this into perspective. This is the first time in 5 years Gaga stays on top of sales chart for five consecutive days. Even after Superbowl, Million Reasons stayed on top for 4 days only. Shallow continues to outsale the 2nd in place on a ratio 2 to 1. It's expected to stay longer, and even benefit from the premiere on October 5th. Keep in mind this song is recorded live and was NOT sent to the radios. How could it possibly do this well. Is the GP finally realizing how good Gaga is? Are power ballads the new strength of Gaga? It seems that it's like what people like to hear from her nowadays lol.

Chickens in Malibu 7,873
Just now, Bio said: Only stans and soccer moms buy songs on iTunes in 2018. No I can tell when that happens. Perfect Illusion for example skyrocketed to N1 on the first day of release, then fell down so quickly. You can tell it was a fan purchase surge. Fans don't wait 5 days to buy the song. Shallow is having a stable consistent lead. And it's being streamed even more than Gaga's previous singles. 1M streams a day on Spotify is pretty good by Gaga's standards. grenziel 538
This is the works of the Mini Coopers fan base .. But seriously, I think this is mostly coming from people who was able to watch the movie beforehand. That and casual fans who liked what they heard and read from the reviews and reactions. Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want be abused.
doppelganger 3,937
Well for a start the film has a brilliant trailer, a huge marketing budget (due partly to Mowgli being sold to Netflix), an international presence, plus great reviews certainly helps build the hype. Shallow’s success certainly not due to the quality of the song alone. What i’m hoping is that both Interscope and Live Nation makes big bucks from the soundtrack, and hopefully this’ll allow them to put in money into the promo of LG6. Imagine going from THIS to Joanne levels of promo (which i think was all down to Gaga’s effort and not much else from Interscope especially in non US markets )
Shipper 13,087
This movie is more like a worldwide event and the Superbowl isn't. There are so many amazing and loyal monsters out there. And honestly, the songs in the movie hits you harder than Joanne songs because the movie puts a narrative behind them. It makes it so much more meaningful and full of emotion! 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶
Poissonche 12,365
I guess the trailer has been seen by lots of people, and everyone wants that AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH to be the soundtrack to their everyday life. Have any of you listened to it in headphones while out in public? Man, that AHHHHHHHHHHHHH makes making eye contact with a vagabond cat feel like a turning point in a Shakespeare tragedy.
