LIVE vs Studio version

after listening to the single and the trailer (but not having the ability to overlay the vocals at the moment) i think her chorus vocals from the trailer are the first chorus vocals from the full version, obviously with the instrumentation changed. this is my hypothesis anyway.

It’s a song for a movie about someone playing on live stages and becoming a singer. We know she demanded everything be recorded live in the film, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Would a non live version maybe sound good too, sure! But the context of why the song exists and where it comes from makes sense. 

it comes as a surprise because the 2 official snippets of the song we were given are a different version to this release, it's like someone showing you a burger but then you end up only getting the bun

I dont like this version. A bit let down but I am still excited for the film (obviously) and the rest of the soundtrack. I just wish they re consider and think about releasing the polished version too.

I just tried it with both versions and they are different, her vocals in the trailer are more aggressive and have a great rasp to them which she sometimes does, but the vocals in the official song sound more like shes sad, not aggressive so has no rasp

I understand the opinions but the song is this way for a very specific reason. I've seen the movie and basically this song was thrown together by Ally the night before and Jackson made her go up on stage and sing it. It's in the story as a very spur of the moment song so that's just how it is. 

As for the cheering that's just a choice that was made for the soundtrack because they want it to feel similar to watching the movie because it is a live and raw experience. 

All the other songs in this movie are very nicely structured and there are some songs that I highly doubt will have the cheering but as for the ones sung live in front of a crowd on stage I would just expect it. 

I'm not saying anyone is wrong for feeling annoyed I just want to give everyone the idea as to why it is the way it is. Once you see the movie you will feel differently about it I promise

That's cuz Ally is scared while singing it. In the trailer they probably wanted to have a version with a lot more aggression and impact to make it exciting for people to see it. That's just what movie trailers are for.

Hmm Shallow is a song for a movie where they're singing to a live audience. It's not a pop song for LG6.

How will the album include live versions if they songs are vaguely performed on the film? And what about the threats? Hair Body Face , It's That Alright? And Before I Cry, they are not in the movie (?

Because they are edited in. When they were singing the songs it was dead silence from us in the crowd so they could get a clear recording. All the cheering is edited in. 

In the movie it's much louder

There are songs that won't have the cheering most likely

Oh yeah I get theatrically why she sounds like that, I just want the version from the trailer and I think they should release it at some point since they've spent the time recording it and using a studio instrumental production, but I am really happy with the song itself and the crowd doesn't bother me either

Yeah I see what you mean. I was expecting them to use that too but I'm just dealing with it cuz I dont have the energy for meltdowns
