I also think that it's like... How much of Ally's pop career do we really need to see evolve. It should be faster because her come up is more important. Luv u Sum 2,377
Gurl I didnt feel there were any issues. Especially not with the direction from Bradley. I think that's what really made this movie so good. The second is very emotional and drama which takes a turn for the fast paced love in the start of the movie. So idk if that's what you're talking about but that just might be preference

djBuffoon 12,115
The film has the widespread, ecstatic praise of established critics and cinephiles who have been lucky enough to see it at these festivals and premieres. Is there some reason why we have to harp on opinions which are clearly in the minority?

From what I've heard (I haven't seen the movie yet), it's really organic and it's done in a way that almost goes against "sophisticated cinematography," or whatever. It seems really personally and done so in a way that isn't conventional or traditional. I'm pretty sure Bradley has talked about that too. And if that's the case, while I think it's valid to not like that particular style of directing, I don't think it's valid to say "The cinematography wasn't executed well" or whatever, because that's precisely the point he was trying to make. it looks like it's shot very similar to Silver Linings and Joy, both of which starred Bradley. I remember hearing him say that he would watch and study the film making process on the movies he stared in so it makes sense that he chose this style due to those previous movies. giskardsb 12,565
You have to make some allowance for artistic choice. Bradley Stated he made exactly the movie he wanted to make, so if it diverges from common conventions it’s clearly intentional. It’s like when people complain that Gaga’s videos used “incorrect” camera angles. Art doesn’t always follow the rules laid out as “good practice” Plus the fact that essentially no professional critics complain about some of this stuff makes me think it’s partly just a matter of a filmmaking style that is unappreciated by some who maybe have a less diverse cinematic experience. lgaga1fan 2,305
I do agree that the editing had quite a few mistakes, mainly during the concert sequences where they would shift from Glastobury to Coachella randomly and would act like it was the same concert. Screenplay was fine to me. Every event that happened served its purpose in the whole endgame of the film. Bradley was a great director and the cinematography during the concert scenes and in the scenes of Ally's house and Jackson's house were all really great. Oriane 20,937
From the nose scene that we saw, there are some continuity errors yes. Maybe it was just shortened, maybe it's the full scene, I don't know. But if the whole movie is like that there's obviously a bad editing/directing or both.
