Gaga on fan tweet backlash: "It's not favoritism"

Only this fan base. Seriously. Idc about marc, but Gaga made up lm.com, goes in online chats with us frequently, does minivideos, stops for fans outside places, posts media about her private life, wrote an album dedicated to us and w/e yet they still aren't happy. The sad reality is that she'll be more reluctant to go on chats and do personal tweets now. Albeit a bit sensitive of her, I really hope she didn't take it to heart.

Of course she isn't going to sit and retweet all the "MOMMY I LOVE YOU OMG IM CREYING" tweets. That's just the way it works. There will always be some sort of hierachy in fan bases.

RE: superfans that follow her everywhere - don't they have school to go to? I know it's their life but meeting Gaga 50 times isn't exactly a CV attribute. I could never do that.

I just hate how meeting her has become this contest or how many times you have met her turns into this hierarchy system. You met her. We get it. It doesn't make you a bigger fan or better than the rest of us.

Maybe I'm naive here, but it seems to me, if people have a problem with MarcMonster, they could just... not follow him on Twitter? I mean, how hard is it to filter him out of your life, seriously? That's why I'm not aware of any of his alleged rudeness, and why, even now, I haven't seen any of the nastiness from yesterday -- only Gaga's reaction to it. Not because I ever had a problem with him, but because I never made him part of my life in the first place.

I blocked him months ago but it's always brought up through social networking. I don't hate him, but I just choose not to read his tweets.

It's honestly better that way. If you have a problem with someone, block them out. Like I didn't even KNOW there was this drama going on until my timeline blew up.

(Sidenote: I have met her before, years ago. I just choose not to talk about it, see how that works?)

My thoughts exactly. Meeting Gaga is a special experience, but it doesn't make you better than any other fan. It doesn't make you her close personal friend or confidant. You're still just a fan like the rest of us. Just like meeting Gaga isn't the be all and end all of your life, for those of us that haven't met her. It's okay to be jealous of people who meet her, but it's not fair to attack them over it.

Some people did over-react, but how would you expect people to hold back jealousy when you rub these sort of things in their face. I honestly don't care if he is rich or has a life, or how many times he meets gaga tbh, I am sure a lot of fans would if they had the time and resources, the fact is that we are all crazy in love for the same woman who advocates the exact opposite to the behaviors shown by BOTH sides of this.

Its a pity in the greater sense that she will feel reluctant to even acknowledge individual fans on a public level now, out of fear for them -> so really everybody loses from this
