Is Original Song win really a lock?

INLA has a stunning visual story behind it apparently so that may lock it for the win. Surely the music and the film are supposed to merge together for this award rather than it just being a backdrop disattached song that so many tend to be.

Kendrick will win. We have no power against the gods. We must pray sisters. We need a miracle

He's certainly a contender, but I feel like the Academy is less likely to reward a song that serves no integral role in the film and only plays during the end credits. Especially compared to, say, The Shallow, which is sort of ASIB's "theme."

No one's heard the Mary Poppins songs, but they were written by the guy who did "Smash" and the "Hairspray" musical, so I am not particularly worried.

ASIB has a lot of things working in its favor for Best Original Song:

- Gaga is well-known to the Academy because of the Sound of Music tribute and her previous nomination

- Gaga is largely seen as having been "robbed" when she lost in 2016, the Academy may want to correct that now

- All ASIB music was performed live in the film, and the Academy loves that sh*t (Les Mis, La La Land)

- ASIB is a movie ABOUT music, which makes it more likely it will win the movie music award

- Gaga (and WB) are incredibly capable campaigners

- If the soundtrack is successful, on top of being acclaimed (which it already is), that also really helps beat down some of the competition.
