Also, it makes a lot of sense. From what we've seen, A Star Is Born doesn't seem to have any competition at all. If things don't change, the movie could swipe every award.

I read a (positive) review by BlackGirlNerds that actually brought up this issue in a fairly critical but ultimately benign way. They saw Dave Chappelle's character and plot device as something akin to the "magical negro" narrative in the third act- however, it was still genuine and warm, and overall arbitrary.

And although the film is led by two white leads, the inclusion of Chappelle, Ramos, and Shangela is still super exciting for me, as a Brown man.

I actually recommend that everybody read the review (spoilers ahead). It's really well-written, and really dissects the movie in a very great way.
