Sunday’s Creative Arts Emmys saw the crowning of three new EGOT winners, with John Legend, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice becoming the latest to win the industry’s biggest four awards.

All three earned the honor by winning an Emmy for variety special for NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar, Live in Concert,” with Legend as producer and Lloyd Webber and Rice as the composer and lyricist of the original 1970 musical. They became just the 13th, 14th, and 15th people in history to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, and Legend made history as the first black man to do so. And at 39, he tied Robert Lopez as the youngest man to do so (Lopez earned the first of his two EGOTs in 2014).

EGOT is overrated.

Literally if you win a minor in Emmy, Tony, Grammy and Oscars or multiple minors you easily get that throne title.

I mean those who are talented probably want to win in big categories and really achieve the awards

Not sure for John Legend if he snaked through any easy competition, but having the title is still having the title:vegas:

That's a ridiculous statement, you're underrating people's work. A movie is made by hundreds of people behind the cameras, who will never achieve the big categories because they are not actors, directors or producers, they are simply film-making people in other areas. Those who are talented want to win in the categories where their work belongs...

If an EGOT was that easy to get, there would be more than 15 people in history to win it...

Congratulations to John Legend, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tom Rice and all the Emmy winners.

How is it overrated and easy if literally only 15 people have it...
