Bradley 59,328
Hypothetical scenario: On 22 January 2019, the nominations for the 91st Academy Awards are announced. You have been waiting for this moment for half a year, knowing that A Star Is Born is a strong contender. You've been following GoldDerby for months and it lists Gaga as #2 on the prediction list with an 80% chance of getting nominated. You get through all the categories watching a livestream of the nominations announcement, and Best Actress is one of the last categories to be announced just before Best Picture and Director. A Star Is Born gets nominated in most of the technical categories, Sam Elliott gets nominated for Supporting Actor, Bradley Cooper gets nominated for Best Actor, you get more and more anxious knowing that if Gaga fails to make the list, she would ruin the flow. However you feel some comfort knowing that she's been receiving unanimous acclaim from critics for her first movie role, and you keep reminding yourself that Cher, Barbra Streisand did this while also being musicians. They finally announce the nominees for Best Actress. Spoiler Glenn Close from The Wife Spoiler Viola Davis from Widows Spoiler Saoirse Ronan from Mary Queen of Scots Spoiler Melissa McCarthy from Can You Ever Forgive Me? Spoiler Your anxiety levels go through the roof since four nominees have been announced and Gaga's name is nowhere on the list Spoiler and finally... Spoiler Olivia Colman from The Favourite Spoiler

Head Empty 25,326
The Oscars are infamous for snubbing actors, directors and films that are highly expected to win/be nominated. It would be unwise to expect anything from the academy, regardless of critical acclaim.

Infinity Wave 7,635
I'd think Viola Davis and Melissa McCarthy would have deserved the Oscar, but if the other ones win... I'd say Gaga could have won it instead Colourful
