That is only the case for a minority of hard core christian religions. Most others allow some interpretation based on cultural aspects for when the bible was written, or just ignore parts of it they don't agree with. but it you take only what you want and you ignore what you don't like this has not any sense no more I'm sorry

Let me find a video Religion is a different experience for everyone. Many christians believe in the bible indiscriminately but others use it as a basis for their belief in God. Gaga is no less of a Christian for approching it in the second way. Further still people do not believe in the acts described in the bible but use it and its teachings to guide their actions. Blue wig 340
I guess some people believe in God or a higher force but disagree with organised religion, making their belief something personal and unique, not taught by an outside person. I don't know what Gaga's precise spiritual opinion is, though...
tomsches 17,392
Yeah, the religious aspect of BTW is what bothered me as well back then. She used a lot of religious allusions and imagery that I don't want to relate with. Also, if she's born this way than way does she apply prosthetic "things" on her face and shoulders? JK, I get what she meant with that, don't come for me!

hoebitch11 3,924
nobody is born with their sexuality. Born this way means "born with unlimited potential". Also what's the "bible"??????? sounds gross & dumb.
Tom Nook 37,807
The Bible in itself has contradictions and Gaga has chosen to interpret to what she strongly believes she’s not a hardcore conservative Christian who takes everything in the Bible literal as some would do against LGBT+ folk Uh Red Wine... Convict... Gah Gah...

DIfferent christian creeds will justify their deviations from the Bible in different ways. The Bible itself is not internally consistent and clearly written from many different viewpoints, it is easy to bend the text to justify almost anything. Hardcore idiots like Westboro baptist use that for bad, modern christian creeds that cut some slack to homosexuals are using it for good.

Doncho 27,241
Yeah I dont believe in God either. But I think Gaga was just trying to be kind and unite people who may think different about the matter.
giskardsb 12,565
Also, I would not classify Gaga as a dogmatic catholic based on everything she's said and evidently believes. She believes in God but it's bascially her own interpretation not tied to a specific religious dogma yet influenced by Catholicism. I'd put her in the Spiritual camp but not tied dogmatically to a religion. There is no contradition in BTW, because Gaga's spiritual base is not a bible rooted base. Haralampos 2,063
22 minutes ago, NIGHTCRAWLER said: I'm sorry if y'all have already talked about it but this hit me this morning. When she says "I'm beautiful in my way, cause God makes no mistake", it doesn't convince me at all tbh, probably because I don't believe in God. But what is surprising is that she seems to say that God made us the way we are so he made us gay, bi, trans etc... But this is not at all what says the Bible and every believer will hardly disagree. the Bible say that it's a sin for a man to have sex with another so saying that if we're gay that's just how God made us......huge contradiction. And I'm kinda wondering how much of a believer Gaga is because if you truly believe in God, you respect everything he said (so everything that is in the Bible) so Gaga would be completely sinning with this song (well I guess I could name multiple other sins lol no shade). The second you consider that the Bible isn't relevant or fair, you admit that you don't agree with what God says, and we could even push it further. Since God is supposed to be perfect, if you admit that the Bible isn't, you admit that God doesn't exist, or at least that the Bible isn't God's words. How do you interpret that? How can you explain this contradiction? Discuss It's just a song. Celebrities (not only) in US believe in God without following any good rule about it. That's because they barely know anything about. I guess anyone (if) believe on his own God. I want to say that the bible it's a product of society with imaginary terms to manipulate the citizen. We can't recollect anything from the past to believe.
