WORLDofGAGA 2,274
If a movie gets certified fresh, I presume if it then gets bad reviews it then can loose its certification? @W0RLDofGAGA

She is like the Female Di Caprio, always nominated, never wins. Now, if Gaga has to win, I wish everyone agrees she deserves it, otherwise it would put her in a bad light... Sam Smith, anyone? If everyone thinks Glenn Close should win, and she does, while ASIB gets some other major Oscars (best movie and, of course best music, since Gaga is credited as an author in every song), it would be fine with me. Besides, a nomination for her first major role is already quite an achievement. (don't be mad, it is just my humble opinion) I completely agree!!! She can proof how great of an actress she really is by releasing more films and later on being nominated again and winning similar to Cher.
Jennie Kim 7,006
RT added another review https://film.list.co.uk/article/103900-a-star-is-born/ 4/
djBuffoon 12,136
Added to RT http://www.thefilmfile.com/reviews/s/18_starisborn.htm Perhaps even more eye-opening than Cooper's outstanding turn is Lady Gaga's; save for a few bit parts and an impressively vampy Golden Globe-winning role on "American Horror Story: Hotel," she has never been given the chance to truly spread her wings as an actor. That someone of her larger-than-life caliber is able to thoroughly disappear into the role of Ally to the point where one often forgets it's Lady Gaga may be her greatest triumph. She is intuitive and giving as an actor, someone who appears to be listening and responding and living each moment for the first time. Gaga understands Ally's insecurities and her professional drive while developing a character nevertheless separate from her real-life persona. Just as she eats up the stage, she devours the screen—not in a scene-hogging way (she blends seamlessly into the rest of the ensemble), but as someone undoubtedly meant to be exactly where she is. In every way possible, this is a breakthrough performance on a level rarely seen. 3.5/

Jennie Kim 7,006
A few days ago someone on this thread mentioned RT made a mistake in the original score of one review. I think the critic gave something like 8.5 and RT added as 8.0. Does anyone knows if the rating has been fixed? I can't find the member's post now. gag 22,449
Bradley speaking about J*n P*ters "With this property, there are many writers that come before — if you see the end credits, it's like, there's 10 writers. And [Jon Peters] was part of the, I guess, the grandfather clause of the movie, and we had to get his consent in order to make the movie. When you're at the helm, it's a huge responsibility. And I guess — I mean, first of all, on the set ... you have to create an environment where everybody feels safe. Everybody. And there's no room for disrespect, nothing. And that's something that you'd have to ask everybody who was involved, but I feel like that's the environment I created. Luckily, Jon wasn't there. And if I had known all those things, I would have done it differently. And I guess it's ... I wanted to make the movie, I knew I had to get consent from him, otherwise there's no film. But I should have checked. I guess that's the thing." https://www.npr.org/2018/09/14/647491779/bradley-cooper-on-the-personal-story-behind-a-star-is-born headspin, happiness, DE̤̣A̢̯͔̘T͏͙̗̟̫H̗̙͡ͅ
