Variety spoke with high-ranking label insiders and industry experts and came up with these four scenarios:

1. Go independent

2. Signing with a non-Universal major label

3. Leaving Big Machine but staying within the Universal Music ecosystem.

4. Re-sign with big machine

Why did Variety have to "speak with label insiders and industry experts" to come up with this? Those are the ONLY scenerios lol

I would be really surprised if she left Big Machine. They seem to have a perfect working relationship with huge success, why ruin that with another major label which are constantly under fire for mismanagement of artists.

I dont think Interscope's doing her any good. She should find a label that would treat her as the queen that she is without restricting her -- creatively.

Joanne was a pretty big gamble ...

I think she won't switch from label because that means she would compete with other big artists and the labels could let her turn into a generic pop sex doll which would destroy her career one day. She should either stay on Big Machine or make her own label and team up with some big names to get even bigger than Beyoncé

There's no way she'll want to leave. No other label will allow her the same level of freedom that she's had under Big Machine. She's their most successful act, so they let her do whatever and trust her judgement. I wish much more deserving artists got that amazing treatment, truth be told. Part of the reason why she's got so big is because that label nurtured her and let her make her artistic choices for herself and didn't force things on her. Labels are so rarely like that but now they're stricter than ever before in an age where music is a really hard sell and one bad single choice can throw an entire album campaign off-balance. In this climate, labels will naturally aim to control its artists. But Taylor's found a sweet spot, a sanitised, safe part of the music industry in which to let her art flourish. It's every artists dream. She'd be mad to leave. I suppose you could totally see her setting up her own label in which to completely have control, but hey, if she did that, she'd be pouring millions of her own money into it and she seems to be against that concept, preferring to hang onto her money.
