Isn't there more money is music? How many times do we see movie stars in the Forbes list? At best, wouldn't an actress get like $15 million for one starring role? And you really can't do more than one starring role in a year right?

Gaga has major music releases every two years. I'm thinking an album every 3 years, or more EPs.

Music, theatre, and acting have been cornerstones of Gaga her entire life.  She was in the drama dept of Tisch but dropped out to Persue music.  Music will always be important to her but is clear it was always just one piece of her career vision. Pop star was never the only goal.

I mean, Gaga already has a Golden Globe for Acting and an Oscar nomination for singing, so if she wanted to get high profile projects, she probably could've done it without ASIB. However, I do agree that if the movie is as good as people say, more big filmmakers will want to get her into their movies and she might want to focus on that for a while. I do believe that she loves music more than she loves acting tho, it's where her core fanbase exists and where she started out, so I don't have a fear of losing her as the Popstar we know and love her as, it's just that she'll branch out into other mediums between big album releases.

At this point, I more exciting about ASIB, the critics, the interviews, the awards than I am about LG6. I'm really looking forward to it because I do agree it's a career-defining moment for Gaga.

She will never give up music and I doubt that she'll "put it in the backlines," but acting and music will become equal endeavors to her—and to a degree, it already has.

I’ve been saying this since she did the Countess for AHS.

 

The woman put the Joanne era on a hault for ASIB, that should tell us something about how she wants to invest her time. She’s not into spending her efforts and energy for a whole music era like she did with TF, TFM or BTW.

Music "eras" have changed so much, and after awhile it becomes a lot of effort for minimal result. With acting and music Gaga can get more exposure to larger audiences in easier ways than before.

By March 2019 - She will be considered - by everyone from babies to Grandpa  - as the greatest entertainer her generation ever produced.

Its a rarefied position that few have ever been in - and she will be one of the few.

I feel like she should do both, not at the same time, perhaps sporadically. Anyway she filmed American Horror Story: Roanoke while preparing Joanne, she filmed A Star Is Born while preparing for Coachella and the Joanne World Tour (she's also been reading the script and attending pre-shooting meetings before the Superbowl), she filmed American Horror Story: Hotel right after she finished the Cheek to Cheek Tour.

Music has never taken a break and she managed to find time for both movies and acting.
