It feels like it isn't quite as know and it's only a month left till it comes out...will the promo help enough?

On a side note something cool that happens was my p.e teacher who usually hates pop girlies said he really likes the trailer of the movie and is excited to watch it, maybe the gp will like it like him

I don't know how hyped a project like this could really get, but if it gets good reviews and has a second trailer as good as the first, it's going to do really well. A film where they are clearly laying a lot of Oscar hope typically lives and dies by how it's received critically. However, musicals can really take off on their own just based on a solid soundtrack.

If they make a really quality film with a high quality soundtrack (which we basically know is the gospel truth) then it could explode, but slowly, over the rest of the fall/winter.

The ASIB era starts officially on the 31st August with the Venice premiere.  So we shall see how the reviews are because word of mouth is usually more important than billboards and tv spots for a movie like this with a moderate budget.

the critics seem hyped enough and ASIB has made it onto a lot of oscar prediction lists

once the reviews start rolling in, the hype will snowball along with the second trailer and premieres which hopefully will be followed by a promoted song once the movie is out

Warner Brothers went into full promo mode with Crazy Rich Asians like 3 weeks before it came out

so dont expect the commercials and anything major until like mid-September

It's too soon to do the promo..

The movie has like 4-5 weeks run and that's it, so they need to bomb the promo in a very short time so they can hold the impact for those weeks.. so if they start now the promo will be forgotten quickly..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I don't personally think so? most people dont know of its existence at this point id assume, beyond people that follow gagas career (or bradleys i suppose? lol). maybe once the ads start coming in strong closer to the release date.

My cousin, who is really involved with new movies and is nearly a critic at this point, told me he can't wait to see it, that Bradley Cooper did amazing, and he's surprised by how good Gaga is as an actor.

Once the trailer starts playing on TV and Gaga/Bradley do their rounds on late night, the hype should pick up. I'm guessing that'll start in mid to late September.

Bradley

Of all the Oscar contenders, A Star Is Born is among the most popular ones (judging based on the views of their trailers).

First Man by Damien Chazelle and Ryan Gosling has only like 1 million views, whereas A Star Is Born has 6 million.

I've done a brief research and most trailers of movies that are predicted to be involved at the Oscars only get like 3-4 million views and A Star is Born has 6 million. We're doing really good.

The promotion hasn't kicked in yet, we haven't had a film premiere yet, the stars haven't even attended any late night shows to promote the film. Critics haven't even reviewed the movie yet, all these will happen in September.

I assume Bradley and Gaga will also attend movie premieres.

Someone actually compiled the views of all the various trailers of A Star Is Born and got like 50 million views in total.
