Well, ask Cardi B, the so called new queen of the gays. She married a homophobic guy :triggered:

She’s transphobic herself, so it is a good match. :huntyga:

Hate to burst the social justice circle jerk, but it seems as though Amanda isn't upset about it. She stole focus in the image, so they edited her out. We have no reason to believe someone was instructed to remove her because she is trans, in spite of what the OP claimed.

That being said, I love Amanda Lepore and hope Gaga works with her again.

Although I love LaChapelle's work in general, I hate this cover. It's a gross use of objectified female flesh which makes no contextual sense. Like, why all these ladies chillin naked in full makeup in some sort of carnival junkyard? Just why?

My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <3

There are two album covers. If you look at the first one colors are happy, bright, there are little kids playing - it has carnival feel to it. It represents the ligt side of him I guess.

Then on this one imagery is really different because it is dark, sexual, dirty, etc etc. it shows his dark side. Maybe those ladies represent drugs, craziness of his life, sex, etc.

I love it and don’t find it offensive towards woman (I am female myself) but I see your point

Idk if I actually believe this since Amanda is not even in the foreground :selena: but I guess I’ll give David LaChapelle and Amanda Lepore the benefit of the doubt

She doesn't have to be in the foreground to throw off the composition. If you are looking subjectively at the two images, the one without her is more interesting to the eye because of the asymmetrical balance.

I'm glad you provided some more context, that actually makes me feel a lot more warmly toward this. It's like an innocence/temptation light/dark duality thing.

The other cover for those who haven't seen it:

Also, may I just say how disappointing it is from all these allegedly LGBT-supporting artists like LaChapelle or even Katy Perry to forget all about their so called "principles" just to collaborate with trendy rappers? Remember the SNL debacle with Migos. I guess there really is nothing money can't buy.

Just gonna point out we don't know for sure it was because he is transphobic. I'm not defending him, I'm just not making assumptions.

Not an expert obviously, but to my eyes I don't think Amanda steals focus - she appears as just another body in the mix.

Anyhow, this cover & LaChapelle's work in general feels so stale these days. I've said it before - and I know the overphotoshopped look is his thing and spans decades - but all of his work reminds me of America's Next Top Model photoshoots now.
