Let’s also not forget about Whitney, Madonna, Mariah,  Michael and Janet Jackson’s debuts - they all made huge impacts with their debuts, and forged incredibly long and successful careers.

Of course there will be. That kind of story don't happen often. But it will happen again in the future. The life is a moving wheel, you know what I mean?

Nobody think there will be somebody after Madonna, but we then have Britney that make solo female artist singing bubble gum pop music became a trend during her time and suddenly many rivaling recording labels trying to sign their own Britney copy. (examples includes Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpsons, Stacie Orrico, and more)  Then nobody think there will be anyone like Britney anymore. Then there's Avril Lavigne who led the phase that was dubbed "Anti-Britney" which again made every other recording labels releasing albums by young female musician (examples include Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, and Norah Jones) who wrote and play their own instruments instead of dancing because that's what's popular. Then there's Gaga's time who blend those eras perfectly and make it her own thing and combined it with couture fashion and technology, and suddenly everyone doing that too.

Gaga's debut sold 100M records in 2 years (which is her debut), won 5 grammys and tons of others.

I doubt it will happen in the era of streaming. (and tbh streaming will rule everything from now on)

The Fame has not sold 100M copies total. wHAt are you talking about

Thank you. Let’s not act like Gaga is the only star that made a boom on their debut.

I think he meant the singles sales too

OT: I think there will always be someone who is VERY successful atm but a debut like Gagas not only sales-wise? Too hard for that with streaming + social media.

That boom Gaga had is like impossible nowdays.
Everyone knew or heard of Lady Gaga. She was literally everywhere. Everyone wanted to know what she was gonna do next. She merged pop music + stardom + fashion + weirdness PERFECTLY.

THIS but this site refuses to believe that there were megastars before Gaga and there will be megastars after her. I mean come on Mariah's Debut was much more successful than Gaga's.

Lol it's 100M records in The Fame only.

Poker face (Gaga’s highest selling single from The Fame) has sold 14 million copies. You are telling me that 14 million from PF and 15 million from album (TF AND TFM) (total of 30 M) she sold an additional 70M from Paparazzi, Just Dance, and LoveGame. Alright....

ok where are your sources to back up your claim?? as far as I know TF and TFM together has sold 14.5 million copies and about 50 million singles combined. that's not 100 million records boo

No... that’s in addition to the EP. I’m talking about JUST The Fame with no addition to TFM
