PunkTheFunk 124,483
In June of 2016 -- right in the thick of the pre-LG5 era -- I made a stunning discovery: Gaga releases a new solo project approximately every 1000 days (give or take a month). If you don't count TFM (which was initially planned as a Fame-re-release and NOT an album in its own right), the theory holds true. As you'll see in the thread I linked, I set Day 1 as the release of Just Dance. On Day 1000 (January 2011), she was just a month shy of releasing the lead single of Born This Way. On Day 2000, she was just a month shy of releasing ARTPOP. At the time I made the thread, we had no idea when "LG5" was coming. Nonetheless, I predicted we would get something around 1 month after Day 3000 (August 2016). Sure enough, around a month and a half after Day 3000, the lead single "Perfect Illusion" was officially announced. Now, if we count approximately 4000 days from the release of Just Dance, it brings us to March 2019. I have a feeling that this is around the time we'll get LG6 (whether it's the album, or a lead single, or an official announcement). ****I mistakenly counted 1000 days from the Perfect Illusion release instead of 4000 from Just Dance; the error has been fixed. Thank you to everyone who pointed it out **** While it might seem unreasonably far away, it makes sense once you think about it. 1. ASIB is coming out in October, and the soundtrack could be out in late September. While Gaga won't necessarily be spending all her time on promo, she'll at the very least be performing "The Shallow" on a few late night shows and tweeting about the movie every three days. It wouldn't make any sense to release a pop album just before the movie comes out or while it's in theatres -- it would only distract from it. Plus, I imagine that celebs typically promote one project at a time. 2. Gaga's Vegas residency begins in December, and I'm assuming she needs at least a month or two to prepare for it. With a movie coming out and a residency to do, why would she add the stress of releasing a new album on top of all of that? My guess is that she'll get into LG6 mode after awards season wraps up in February 2019. The album will just be released during the residency. What do you think fats? LadyLuca 2,550
yea, I mean nobody really thinks its comming in 2018. We wish it would. 2019 is realistic and aslong as we get good music from her the wait will be worth.

joannesrats 26
I just don't see her starting a residency without any new music, that's why I see november/december for a new album.

Doncho 27,241
Wow great theory. It could be true. However I think something is coming this year. I dont know if its a lead or something like The Cure, but she s been working hard for months. I dont want it to mix with ASIB though... both projects deserve to shine! So I hope you are right

AndrewGr 6,022
Releasing it anytime before February 2019 would be a total disaster, so, you're probably right.
Guest
i was always thinking that it would be wierd to have some other projects while you are campaining for awards season, she will focus on that oscar, and that is in february
dit 46,515
I totally agree and have been saying this for a while. For the ppl who keep mentioning "she needs new music before vegas!"... No she doesnt? Most vegas shows are known to be like Greatest Hits shows. Britney released an album before her residency but not everyone does that. In fact most dont't. Plus she'll have a few new songs to add to the setlist rom the ASIB soundtrack.
Mitchey 893
My guess is it will come before the residency. I doubt she’ll start the residency in Dec. and then completely change it around a few months later with all new music and production, that doesn’t really make sense. She’s gonna start it off with a bang. At least that’s what makes sense imo otherwise the first people to see her wouldn’t get anything new, but those going a few months later would’ve a totally different show? I don’t think so lol
Max Vandeburg 6,966
I have to agree with this thread. 2019 seems the most reasonable time for a new solo album. Her schedule seems very full for the rest of 2018. Let's not forget she still has the unknown project with Tony in the middle of it all.
socotra 3,315
Great theory and tbh i buy it. Only reason I can see for her releasing earlier would be to promote her residency, but I don't think she really needs to promote it. Her name still has insane star power, and I think a lot of people would love to see Gaga live, even people who aren't necessarily fans but will be in Vegas. So that kinda negates needing an album to spark interest in a show that has interest built in. but around another year with no music? that sucks
