However, Ed has now disputed the decision, with his lawyers telling London's High Court that the actions are "damaging reputationally" and have affected Ed's impressive "revenue streams".

I guess his Ratpootation era is coming :poot:

The like to dislike ratio on Sami's video :toofunny:

I can't believe someone as straight as Ed Sheeran managed to gather a rabid fanbase to attack anyone who even slightly dislikes him; I thought only gay icons could do that...

I totally agree in the fact he's overrated and that he should be punished for the plagiarism he's done in several songs. But maybe then not listening to them and not buying his music is enough lol

I fail to see what has he done to all of you

I usually don't take those lawsuits seriously since songs can sound the same at some parts by chance, but this is quite too similar. Also, I'm really happy to see that **** song not generating any revenue for that scumbag. I'm still confused how that pile of ordinary and bland garbage won any grammies.

All in all, Grammies / Oscars are extremely dishonest nowadays. Better to totally ignore them.

These are not similar, but frankly? Ed is going to be okay, he isn't going to run out of money any time soon, he is going to make it.

Looks like we have another Beyonce in the making. :ladyhaha: (jk, don't come at me)

Tbh, they sound exactly the same to me. :laughga:

It would have been fine if the "oh why's" were an obscure part of Ed's song but it's like the main hook that catches your ear.

Ed did the same thing in other parts of the song (intentionally or not) so it's not that shocking/unbelievable of a thing for me.

It's also the hook from Sami's song which makes it worse.

The style on how you sing and deliver - Oh why oh why is called topline in songwriting. This is how you put hook on a song and with this issue, it should not be discredited. This could also be a reason as to why, Performing Rights Society did favor Sam.

Not sure if there are actually similarities, but that’s how this stuff works. If The person suing Ed loses the law suit for copyright or whatever, then Ed will see all those royalties from May onwards. The royalties are kinda just sitting in a bank account for the time being (if this is American law anyway)

truthfully these lawsuits for plagiarism just come across as transparent money grabs from people who have unfortunately not managed to reach the level of success they crave. Like yeah, sometimes you can find parallels in things and im not saying its not possible that these huge artists are potentially evil enough to straight up rip someone off and think they can get away with it, but I also think people are super down to take advantage and try to get a piece (or in this case all) of the money pie from someone whose making a sh*t ton of cash off a track.
