Good thing. There’s nothing wrong in wearing a scarf, but hiding you face in public places feels really awkward, creepy and rude.

I'll state it like this then: let's not pretend this is a progressive policy. Just a bunch of self-congratulating bigots disguising their bigotry through so-called "liberal" policy. There's not a chance this isn't motivated by discrimination and that those effected will only come to lose more freedom

Good they should ban this everywhere it's scary you don't know if it's a woman or a man who is hiding inside. You don't if know they hide something else really creepy (burqa it's hiding your full body even your eyes in black, hijab it's only the hair)

What I hate is that those people would ban public nudity too so like, you can't cover too much and you can't reveal too much..

You're not helping anyone by saying, "hey you're oppressed that you have to wear this, let me take it off," when many women choose to wear it and feel good with it. A burqa doesn't inherently oppress someone. Other things that actually do should be banned so people can wear whatever the heck they want.

Edit: to all people saying this is awkward or rude in public, are you for real? If it weren't a burqa but some other thing you wouldn't be complaining. Numerous of Gaga's dresses are rude to wear in public yet we Stan when she carries herself in public in them.

Have you even read the article? The ban has nothing to do with forcing women out of oppression but is a measure to enforce national security. They believe that public spaces are safer if a person is clearly identifiable by showing their face.

Burqas and Niqabs were banned. And they should be. 

Hijabs were not. And they shouldn't be. 

Easy. 

You're in a western country, and we're used to see the face of the people that is around us in public places, it's our culture and they should get used to it. 

In some Middle Eastern countries it's obligatory for foreign women to wear hijabs, and it's their culture, when you go there you need to agree with their laws.

I dont think this is an issue about opression. Its an issue of public safety and cultural differences.

And how, tell me, have you come up with this conclusion. That there is absolutely no chance that a different motive could have caused this. The one and only motive it seems is to be a bigot...
