Netherlands bans burqa & other face coverings

Under the new law, anyone who wears face-covering clothing in schools, hospitals, government buildings and on public transportation will be subject to a fine of about $460. This law applies to including Islamic veils and robes such as the burqa and niqab but not the hijab, which covers only the hair, and it will also applies to motorcycle helmets and ski masks.

The Netherlands was the first European country to propose a burqa ban, which it did in 2005. France and Belgium have had more austere bans in place since 2011. Both countries have banned the burqa in any public setting; those laws have been upheld by the European Court of Human Rights.

Bulgaria, Austria and Denmark also have imposed versions of the ban, in part fueled by the countries' far-right parties. In Australia, a vocal anti-Islam politician sparked outrage when she wore a burqa in parliament as part of her push to ban it.

“The only effect will be that many of these women will stay at home even more,” Sen. Ruard Ganzevoort of the Green Party told reporters after the ruling. “They will not have an opportunity to go to school. They will not have an opportunity to go to learn to swim, and all those things.”

Its complicated because the Bible doesn't say it in direct wording but they have had an interpretation for decades now that close to the end World Governments as a whole will start to try to end religion

 

Also it's that God will put it in their hearts to do so (because he wants to get rid of false religion before starting new world order) so for the most part the world as a whole will attack religion (not just a few countries)

good, if you want to live in a society and make use of the benefits of living in a society (which is safety through non-anonimity,...you guys know how people can act on the internet if anonymous)

then the least one can expect of a person is to show their face, even just out of respect to others so they can see who you are.

and it is not like they can't cover their hair anymore, only the face, but if you want to live with other people you need to be able to compromise and i think that is a fair one

 

and of course you should still wear a motorcycle helmet while driving, but if you stop then you gotta take it off...gosh people use your brain

Muslim women in the Netherlands will be banned from wearing face-covering veils in common public spaces, like schools, hospitals, or on public transportation, the Dutch government has decided.

On Tuesday, the Dutch upper house of Parliament officially criminalized the act of wearing the burqa — which covers the entire face and body — and the niqab — which covers the face. It’s a move that will mainly affect Muslim women living in the country, though the ban does not apply to the hijab.

Any person who violates the ban, which includes wearing ski masks and full-face helmets, will be subject to a fine of 405 euros, or about $472.
