The country has topped the list of the most dangerous countries for women, thanks to widespread sexual violence, retrograde cultural practices, and trafficking, according to a poll by the Thomson Reuters Foundation. In 2011, when a similar poll was last conducted, India ranked fourth behind Afghanistan, Congo, and Pakistan. And to think that we already discuss problems that so-called "developed" societies have when it comes to women rights... I hope it gets better in a near future. Last week Saudi Arabia women had a huge victory by being able to get a driving license and drive. Apparently, much by the king's son influence. India is actually a pretty safe country for females, as compared to Afghanistan or Pakistan etc. I say this because, first of all I live here, and the modern culture in India is really blooming, girls of all ages now have a right to speak up, do what their hearts desire! Religion ofcourse is a big issue in India, however India is alot much safer for girls than it was 20 years back. Sexual assaults and rape, happens in every damn country including America, so that's a really shitty reason to put India on top.
