These children are being treated like worthless objects getting thrown into storage. It's truly heartbreaking.

The only good thing that will come out of Trump's admin is that he will lead to a revitalized and reinvigorated left wing. We will stop this.

I've never seen Rachel cry live on air ever... and I'm not surprised.  This policy is so disgusting that I don't know how Trump or Kristjen Nielsen sleeps at night.  Really making America great again huh!

I have to believe that we will come back to normalcy one day.

This is why I was so angry Bernie was screwed royally by the DNC... he was so much a better candidate than Hillary because although she has a lot more experience, she is a terrible "candidate".  Bernie's blood courses with activism.  He's a fighter for people and puts his money where his mouth is.  I hope the 2020 candidate acts this same way, that piece of **** can't win a second term.

This is just heartbreaking, we are not here to hurt anyone, we just want the American dream. That's what keeps me wanting more for myself,  and finish college to pay back my mom for bringing me to the USA, and all she had to struggle threw as a single mother.

Bernie losing is fine in the long run. A stronger left leaning base will mean more in the future.

This is how all news networks should be responding though. With genuine outrage at the inhumane treatment of these families. It's horrific to see Republican's just tow the line of the administration... I understand that Trump is popular with Republican voters but when all they are being fed is "Trump is doing great! Democrats are responsible for any bad stuff!" then that's what they eat up and that's what they believe.

I knew Fox News was essentially a propaganda unit used to spread conservative, right wing ideologies and prop up right-wing  politicians - but usually they set the tone. What Rupert Murdoch believed became talking points that filtered down through their hosts and commentators to the politicians themselves.

What's happened? Trump is far more right and far more extreme than Murdoch, as the main source of information for Republican voters they have some power to put pressure on the president... I guess they are more concerned with being Trump's favourite network and more interested in having him call in to their shows. If they set the tone and Republican leaders followed suit they could actually influence public opinion and put pressure on Trump...

What :rip: How is this a more reasonable conclusion than she's just a human being that is mortified and disgusted by this policy? Rachel Maddow is quite a professional.

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

I’ve been thinking about this a lot today, and I’m convinced that Trump is fully aware that this is morally wrong. However, this whole ordeal is simply the “shiny object” he’s waving in front of the media to distract from policies/decisions that he is doing right this very moment. Today, he had The United States of America removed from the UN Human Rights Council. That, my friends, speaks volumes in terms of optics and future policies that are to come in the near future. Moreover, he is also blaming Congress (and specifically democratic Congressmen) for this whole ordeal.

He’s using this travesty to play a political game, and the sad part is I think he’s winning overall with the public. His approval rating (even after these reports) is tied with Obama during the same time in his presidency. While it sounds crazy from a logical perspective (as do most things with this presidency), I think all of this will not affect his chances in 2020 negatively, which is mind-boggling. People can keep calling him “stupid”, but I actually think he’s learning to manipulate the political system at a rapid pace. That’s why I’m horrified.

Eh........  MSNBC is the Fox of the Left in my opinion.

While I don’t hate Rachel Maddow as a person by any means (or try to ridicule her display of emotion today... shame on the person who did that in this thread), I can’t watch her program for the same reason I can’t watch someone like Hannity. It’s just too biased for my liking.

Just a personal preference I guess

She was teary eyed and her voice was breaking, but she was clearly trying to remain composed and professional. I assume when you are at work or in public you don't uncontrollably sob when you hear something upsetting. Right?

When you consider this is the first time she has ever had an emotional moment on her show, since it premiered a decade ago, it seems fair to give her the benefit of the doubt.

But I will say, you don't want to be the kind of person who callously dismisses a person's human reaction to the breaking news that their government is putting infants and toddlers in prisons, where they are separated from their parents and forbidden from being hugged. Think about it.

A little kindness goes a long way.

My stepdad watches Rachel every night. She is one of the only people he trusts nowadays. He showed me this tonight and I was gonna make a thread about but saw this. I'm first of all proud that as a fanbase we try to educate and inform others in the fandom about important issues. Second I think this is the worst things in the world to be separated by force from your child. Trust me i've had both of my parents die and i'm only 17 years old it's the worst feeling i've ever felt. I understand it's very harsh to compare things to the holocaust nowadays but it's getting less and less of an outrageous thing to think could never happen again. There have been many holocausts in world history since the 40's and it isn't an insane idea anymore that Donald J Trump could start a holocaust against numerous different minorities

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!
