Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker says only a man could rise to the challenges of his job. At a press conference in Sydney, where IATA held its annual meeting, he was asked what could be done about the woeful representation of women in Middle East aviation. That’s not the case at Qatar Airways, Al Baker told the reporter. "Of course it has to be led by a man, because it is a very challenging position.” There were loud groans of disapproval from many reporters in the room. Pop Music 20,540
I truly whole heartedly believe that 99.9% of the time women can do the same things that men can (some times better) That's just how my mom raised me Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever! Morphine Prince 109,896
A Middle Eastern country's airline associated with extreme sexism? Wow, I'm SHOCKED!
Edonis 28,974
Middle East Airlines is better anyways Jokes aside, but Qatar airlines is grossly overrated by westerners and people who can afford to vacation in Dubai. It can go tbh.
imnotyourbabe10 6,120
Look no further if you need information on debunking myths about gender differences and, instead, demonstrates how men and women are equal. Dr. Fine has written an appropriately titled book "Delusions of Gender: How Our Minds, Society and Neurosexism Create Difference" (Always happy to use my useless social science college degrees on GGD ) [And they are only useless because, well, capitalism ]. I'm not shocked they are sexist But I'd never decide on what companies to go with based on a CEOs statement because they alone don't reflect the entire company Corporations have: - thousands of workers - dozens of administrators and board members - many shareholders (you could even own a bit of a Corporation you didn't realize you owned on say an RSP fund) So while a CEO may be the most prominent figure as an individual, he or she is still merely a piece of the pie in a company and if u punish a company it's not always the CEOs that feel the pain

They say it is because they have recognized the advantages of diversity Qatar is conservative by our standards but by no means one of the worst in middle East. They are not Iran or Saudi Arabia. There's people there that place value on women.
Twitter 14
Reading the title alone saddens me that in 2018 people still believe women cannot perform the same jobs as men. I think that most jobs should be open to anyone of any gender identification who has the capacity to competently carry out the associated duties and responsibilities.
