We're used to disappointment and having our hearts broken, so I think it's a defense mechanism. We'd rather be pleasantly surprised than crushed.

THAT SAID, remember when a lot of us thought Joanne was DEFINITELY losing the #1 spot to Michael Buble? And not only did we get #1, but we surpassed several rounds of initial predictions (of like 140K, 170K, etc.) and ended up at 200K+. So you are right, we underestimate her power, and I think we will end up surprised. We've also never had studio movie-level promotion for an album before.

yeah, we can relate... but fearing to go below 75k SPS is too much I guess...

I understand tho cause we haven't got OST Album before but this is no ordinary OST Album release.. We have a legit musician and released along with movie not a week before.

I agree! I don't think there's any real fear of the album debuting with less than 75K. But my guess is it's a worry because of the "newness" of the situation (it being a soundtrack, it not being a traditional Gaga album, it not having a lead single etc.) I think something like The Carters' flopping, even though it was a collab album featuring two of the biggest stars on the planet, adds an element of fear. It's not *really* relatable, but the superficial connection of "Well, it's kind of a Beyonce album..." shook people a little.

now that you mention it.. suddenly I'm afraid :duck:

but I believe the OST is a masterpiece and hope it'll resonate to the moviegoers.. and since this is all new to Gaga, it's safe to play safe.. I get y'all sissies but this is GGD, no one will drag us here. but seriously, ASIB OST doing less than 100k SPS debut will be TRAGIC

The Carters didn't have a movie playing in theaters 24/7 that basically acts as a 2-hour ad for the album in an era when soundtracks are *killing it*. So that's our secret weapon. (The Carters also didn't have a full tracking week, was a surprise drop, was not very good... etc.)

Not to jinx anything, but I think ASIB will be her biggest album since BTW, and it could be even bigger if things work out. I am not worried. But I get the nervousness some of us have about its release and chart positions etc.

I think the soundtrack is gonna do really good, even if it doesn't debut at #1 (it has like a 50% or 60% chance to debut at #1 in my opinion) It'll still have longevity and most probably ending up selling great overall, which will be still amazing on itself
