News actually provides accurate celebrity/artist information that's released to the media. MTV just dwells on reality tv shows, and they pick up news later than the other media outlets reporting gossip, etc. In essence, MTV is pretty much irrelevant and their award show holds no substance anymore since they don't air music videos. You'd have to have a cable package that includes MTVHits, MTV 2, MTVTres and MTVJams. Otherwise, their award show is pretty much filler like the Teen Choice and Billboard Awards.
