it's not "talent"

OF COURSE when you're doing shows in 60,000ish people capacity venues, and doing a decent amount of shows, the grossing will be much higher than arena tours

you're right. no talent to get 53 stadiums filled with 60,000 people each. anybody could do that right?

But is it because the attendance is so high or the tickets so expensive?

:oprah:

does it matter? if ticket sales are expensive, that means that there is a demand. If there is high attendance, that means there is demand. It isn't like one is easier than the other.

It does matter. Let's say the exact same amount of people attended the Witness Tour but the tickets were cheaper there. Then Taylor would have the highest grossing tour even though Katy is just as in demand as Taylor.

People mostly forget that she has a COUNTRY FANBASE which is loyal as f_ck. Take that away from her and she'll be doing regular pop girl numbers.

The other girls don't have a country following but they have a waaaay bigger pop following pretty much everywhere. Watch Madonna do six country albums and then tour and she'd do a BILLION.

It's an unfair comparison, really.

What's the excuse for the 13 stadiums she has booked outside of US & Canada then? Because as far as im concerned those stars with the much bigger following somehow are barely booking any 40K+ stadiums even in those territories they're supposed to have leverage in

no. 100 people paying $1 is not the same as 100 people paying $1,000,000. One has more demand therefor they can charge more.

You don't know that. Katy chose her own ticket prices. Chances are, even if her tickets were more expensive people would still attend her tours as strongly.

Ok not to disrespect Katy, but i went to the witness tour and it was nearly half empty both nights i attended. I found tickets online for $9. The point is is that Katy Perry  isn't doing too well rn. And before i get hate id also like to say the president or something of her record label even admitted they've had to have tough conversations about her since Witness kinda tanked. I'm just stating facts though, Taylor is in much higher demand than Katy Perry. Just look at attendance numbers as well. Also i think the public has grown tired of Katy's persona and all shes done this album cycle is alienate herself. Whether it was misbranding her album as "purposeful pop" or releasing really poor dis song about taylor. This whole album for Katy was a giant misstep. She needs to change her persona and adapt to what people listen to now. Otherwise Witness is just the beginning of the end for Katy.

You missed my point entirely. I took The Witness Tour as an example. I'm not even stanning Katy or her tour, nor am I hating on Taylor. My point is that prices DO matter when it comes to breaking records

I'm not even a Taylor fan but the attempts to discredit her in this thread :ladyhaha:  She's doing amazingly, why is it so hard for some of you to admit that other artists like Taylor, Bey, and Madonna are also doing well. It's possible for more than one female artist to be successful.

Lol what? Her tickets are cheaper than Taylor's, and yet the shows aren't sold out.

As I said before, Katy was AN EXAMPLE. I know that her tour is not selling. I was using it to make a point :madge:

Poor madonna fans they always use the fact that madonna is the highest grossing touring female to put other female popstars down now what will they have?

She'll still be the highest grossing female artist tho:vegas::ohwell: Just not the highest grossing female tour

Also, she's still and will always be the best-selling female artist ever and the one with most impact, try again

Not really :/ If tickets are really really expensive, people won't buy them. Otherwise any artist would charge 200$ for each ticket without problems  :laughga: It only shows that people are willing to see Taylor no matter what, becuase the demand is HUGE. So I really don't understand your point. At least this means that she will have a huge tour gross with only 53 dates, while her peers should have done at least 200 dates to reach Taylor
