Misogynistic media started coming for her non-stop. It really affected her life. She started using drugs and made everything worse. The media kept going at her. Then she lost the custody of her kids. All of this while the media was suffocating her. She then comes with a nicely promoted and toned down era (Circus) and the general public is interested in her again. Her team managed to extend this success until 2011 with the Femme Fatale era. Let's not forget Femme Fatale was supposed to be an urban album but since she's doing cute numbers they called Dr. Luke and he toned down the album so it could be successful. She had a last chance in 2013 but Will.I.Am totally ****ed her 9th album with that 2010 dated ass sound. Not to mention she didn't have enough time to record all the vocals, there was Vegas shows coming and they set that girl that kinda sounds like her to complete the job. Again they marketed that damn album to be her most personal yet, trying to make it successful. But it was bullshit. The album failed rightfully so. Her prime is pretty much over. She did what she wanted with Glory and that's it. She'll keep doing her Vegas thing but she won't have another successful era. She's been in the industry for 20 years after all. Rihanna was beaten by Chris Brown and that stirred up the media too. You don't see Rihanna failing in her career because she backs it up with talent. Rihanna puts on a great show and sings live. Beyonce has been in the business for as long as Britney has, and you don't see Beyonce failing. Again, LIVE performances are meant to be live. You can't lip-sync and expect success. It might have worked in the past when Britney was young but it's not long-lasting. Stop blaming Justin for everything. Beyonce wrote an entire song to diss Jay-Z for his alleged cheating and yet she was praised. Justin did the exact same thing and now he's blamed? What kind of double standards. It's been so long since Cry Me A River people have long forgotten about that. And Britney is not pushing Vegas anymore, she is touring worldwide which I'm glad about. Justin Timberlake has nothing to do with the fall of Britney's career. The career that he destroyed was Janet Jackson's. About the tour, Brit is touring worldwide to make up for the loss of money that was invested in making Glory I guess.

Ironic how Britney doesn't care about her career now but on breatheheavy, her stans make like 1000 threads about how to make Glory a success... Britney doesn't care about those things and she doesn't attend most shows like meta gala etc so she distances herself from media and pop culture these days. She's a casual girl and i believe she'd make different and maybe even better music if she was completely free (aka Original doll).

Beyonce and Madonna worked hard to reach legend status. Brit doesn't make any effort.

Pop music is catchier and has better melodies. Hip-hop is one of the, if not THE newest, musical genre of its own. It is currently shaping pop music, just like how blues and jazz shaped pop music, like how rock did, and disco and on and on. They aren't separate entities. Many artists blur the lines that most would put between rap and pop.

Her only commercial effort was Femme Fatale but she destroyed it with Britney Jean. Madonna and Beyonce re-invented themselves and their music to new generations. Confessions was an introduction to younger people of the legend Madonna and self titled we all know it saved Beyonce's career.

Reject False Icons 4,751
I really would like to ask someone of the industry these type of questions that we have.We create theories to answer the actual situation of our favorite popstars, but nobody knows for sure what's going on inside there. freebit 6,221
I feel like music is mostly a fun hobby for her at this point. She really could have went all out for Glory, but she went minimalistic with her VMA performance, decided not to salvage the LaChapelle video, and didn't press her team to release her album on a slower week so she could go #1. I also think she's in a bit of a commercial conumdrum because she makes youthful teen pop, but the teen pop audience doesn't follow her like that. She could definitely pique people's interest if she talked about her personal life in her music, and it would make her music deeper and more mature, but Britney obviously doesn't want to discuss it. I think she's like Kylie Minogue in that she sees music as an escape. Her peer, Beyonce, is just a different case - she has a lot of drive, her sound is in style right now, she's known as a must-see live act, and she's one half of a celebrity power couple. Plus she hasn't had the tumultuous experiences that Britney has had in regards to the media & public.

Loud is a huge success though, both critically and commercially. So that's hardly a failure. You're just pressed Justin is one of the most successful artists in the business. He HAS talent to back it up. One song can't launch you to stardom. You need a solid discography for that.
RAMROD 107,571
Because of 2007 obviously, all her antics that time and the media have really destroyed her image and never to fully recovered again. Ahh the karma. There's also nothing solid about his discography. He also built his career on the back of Timbaland's sound. Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin.
