Government Hooker fits better on ARTPOP

It’s lyric content, message and sound fit better on ARTPOP tbh. And it doesn’t suit BTW’s concept of self acceptance, individualism and freedom.

It could’ve replaced Jewels & Drugs or Dope :huntyga:

Thoughts? :ohwell:

the theme fits perfectly on born this way, idk what the actual meaning is but I interpret it as her speaking up against the government and refusing to be a slave or 'hooker' to the governmental oppression of gays, POC, women etc

brb imma google the meaning

meaning in gagas words: How much are you willing to be a puppet and hooker and how much more do you want to fight for what you believe in?"

so i was right hehe I guess

The VMA promo alone proves why Government Hooker fits so much better with Born This Way :messga:

I kind of get you sis I mean Government Hooker and some other Born This Way tracks as well fit the theme for Born This Way, but sound-wise, they are more "ARTPOP" than most ARTPOP tracks :vegas:

It also proves why BTW was her best era, and one of the best pop eras of all time :cryga:

OP: I disagree... I think sonically it fits on BTW (the intro is very similar to Bloody Mary especially), and the theme is very much in line with the "empowerment" concept of the album.

I guess ARTPOP was so all over the place conceptually though, that literally anything could fit on it...

ARTPOP was a mix of all her eras in one, thats why she reused some wigs form the fame and tfm eras and looks.

I mean I guess... it was a very fun era and album don't get me wrong. But in terms of the "putting art in front of pop/reverse Warholian experience" concept, none of the songs really conveyed that. They explored fame, fashion, sex, love, drug addiction, touring, family, wealth, rape, everything - except the original concept lol.

ARTPOP was such an exciting time to be a fan, you literally had no idea what she was going to do from one day to the next :diane:
