Economy 49,612 Posted May 12, 2018 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Now a days with a more globalized community and higher internet connections in Countries where few people had them, it's much easier for videos to get way more views. 1 Billion views which was insane when an Artist got in all their videos combined (Lady Gaga was the first) now a single video alone gets that no problem If Gaga ever manages to get another big hit (and I stress the IF ) there's a very good chance that music video will get more views than Bad Romance How would you feel if her iconic song and video that has reigned #1 in her YouTube catalogue for so long got surpassed? Like yeah, it's cool that an artist we love scores high and breaks a new record, but like you said, it's becoming so common that seeing a video cross the 100m mark is quite common even for non-music-related videos, and the 1 billion views mark is also much more common than when it first happened, and I also don't think Bad Romance as the best Gaga song nor her best music video. What would really bother me would be if she'd never even reach what Bad Romance did... and I think if she doesn't reach that, I'm not gonna blame the "sexist" or the "ageist" industry, I'm gonna blame her for not working hard enough, because she hasn't been since Applause. Of course, charts are non of my business, they're hers but if we're to discuss her underperformance on YouTube's video ranks or iTunes charts, it's because Lady Gaga and her management aren't even trying anymore.
