why do artists announce tours BEFORE the album has come out? :oprah:

genuine question :oprah: i would have thought they'd give us the real lead single first since Accelerate was poorly received

She's doing BBMAs on 20th, so Fall In Line is probably coming on May 18th when the tickets go on sale.

  • MaryJaneHolland changed the title to The Liberation Tour | On sale May 18th
Runway

She better not suffer from "production delays" this time considering she's doing tiny 3-5k capacity theatres

but that still doesn't answer my question as to why artists announce tours before the album is out :chica: what's the pro? more time to sell tickets? use the album release to boost ticket sales?

Probably. Maybe she's gonna do tour bundles.

Just because US dates were the only dates announced first doesn't mean the tour is US only. :ladyhaha:

Because if the album flops, their label/tour sponsors would still allow them touring since it's already announced.

Spoiler

Yeah, I know that the label has no input in the tour issues.

Just my guess :selena:

I think two reasons. Both oddly very different.

1.) They're so big or so hype right now, it doesn't really matter if anyone has heard the new music (or just like one song). They just want to work that into all the promo going on for the album release and performances/etc. Especially since touring is so vital to profitability in the music industry now, it's really important to focus on it and get it right why everything is still hot.

2.) More in Xtina's case, the hype is NOT there, but maybe used to be, and they really want people to buy tickets on faith potentially without hearing the new music (this of course being an executive's decision, I'm sure all artists believe in their next work) and also why people are talking about said artist, they want tickets to be readily available. I guess it's pretty close to #1 too, just the other end, ha.

Like, if I ain't an xtina stan I at least need to wait for the actual lead to decide wheter to go or not to the concert :selena:
