Xtina wouldn't return to The Voice

In her new Billboard interview, Xtina discusses many things from her new album, to Kanye West and the Voice. She wasn't very pleased when asked if she would return to the show.

When I ask Aguilera if she’d ever return to The Voice, she scrunches up her porcelain face and says she would prefer to discuss “positive things.” Still, she can’t help but delve into what was wrong with the show, which was a lot. “It became something that I didn't feel was what I had signed up for in season one,” she says. “You realize it’s not about music. It’s about making good TV moments and massaging a story.

“I didn't get into this business to be a television show host and to be given all these [rules],” she continues. “Especially as a female: You can’t wear this, can’t say that. I would find myself on that show desperately trying to express myself through clothing or makeup or hair. It was my only kind of outlet.”

Huh, I didn't know she felt that way regarding the show. Good for her for leaving.

I believe that these shows do care about creating memorable TV rather than sticking to the true meaning about why they were created in the first place - which is to actually make someone a superstar (and someone who truly deserves it).

If this was the case, then I appreciate her for caring about music rather than TV hits :golfclap:

In my messy era.

Unfortunately a show can't compete and survive if it doesn't try to maintain ratings

I mean after all, it is still a reality show though the focus is more to singing. So making TV moments is a way to be cos it will bring ratings. It is good that she can quit when she realize it is against her principals. Good for her.
