What Next For The MCU? (Infinity War Spoilers)

[EXTREME SPOILERS AHEAD]

So, at the conclusion of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos destroys half the universe, killing a whole load of Avengers and leaving us all shooketh.  I was hurt most by the deaths of Spider-man, Scarlet Witch, and Black Panther.  However, already it has been widely assumed that this action will be reversed.  This seems to follow because the following films either have great likelihood and potential or have been confirmed by Marvel to have a sequel; Black Panther (2), Guardians of the Galaxy (Vol. 3) and Spider-Man (Sequel to Homecoming). Also, Dr. Strange said early on in the film that if he was given the option of saving Stark and Spider-Man or protecting the Time Stone, he wouldn't hesitate to let the aforementioned heroes die.  However, when Thanos is in a position to kill Iron-Man, Doctor Strange gives over the Time Stone to save Stark from death.

This confused a fair number of viewers due to what he'd said before, however his dying words (during the obliteration of half the universe at the hand of Thanos) are 'it was the only way'.  This seemingly refers to his handing over of the time stone to Thanos to save Tony Stark's life and when, earlier in the movie, he said out of 16 Million (or something, I can't remember :rip:) possible outcomes to the battle of Avengers vs. Thanos, only one could the Avengers 'win'.  This sounds dire, but Strange's lack of even slight hesitancy to pass over the Infinity Stone and his dying words, it seems that part of the Avengers 'winning' is to seemingly lose.

So what I wonder, is where to next? It seems to Strange that Iron-Man will be crucial or at least contribute to the salvation of the universe, and Marvel has announced that they have a Captain Marvel solo film slated for release in 2019.  The comics give Captain Marvel time-manipulating powers, which seems to imply her intervention in the salvation of the universe, and the post-credit scene shows Nick Fury send a distress signal to Captain Marvel before he too crumbles to dust.  This we know from her logo being the final shot of the film, on his distress signal device.  Marvel has mentioned that Captain Marvel's movie will take place during the 1990s, i.e. before the Thanos Infinity Gauntlet trouble.  SPOILER ALERT she probably lives through her movie as Fury contacted her :selena: .  Will Captain Marvel come to Nick Fury following the distress signal and find Iron-Man and together they reverse Thanos' damage? Surely we will get some pretty cool action scenes with the original Avengers crew, them mostly being the Avengers that survived Thanos' destruction.  It seems fairly clear that Captain Marvel will be instrumental in the Infinity War follow-up, but as her film takes place in the 1990s, one must wonder where on Earth was she during Thanos' attack? Wa she even on Earth :selena: ???

Also is it possible that Strange used some of his illusion-y stuff at the end, to crumble but still be alive? I don't know, but he's damn wise and clearly knows something.  What do you think will happen next for the MCU? And what happens once Phase 4 is over? An X-Men Avengers crossover???? Who knows with these people but surely they have a plan.

After Captain Marvel it will be Avengers 4 and than we'll all know.

At this point, I think that the rest of the Avengers are going to be fine, but I doubt that Iron Man or Captain America make it through the 4th Avengers movie

I would love for all this to be true but i just can't right now becuase i have no confirmation

I was really moved how they killed Peter too. The first time i saw this i nearly cryed and felt awful for the next hours. It was just such an emotional scene.

I don't know why but many people said they hated the romance stuff in IW and i don't understand why. Peter and Gamora had such a heavy conflict, same for Vision and Wanda. I just wished that more of my favorite characters could've survived.

Spoiler

Damn you Thor this is all your fault! No, i haven't forgotten you Quill! Your just as bad as Thor in saving the Universe! :grr:

Well,  they kinda clarified that money is going to talk now for the future contracts.. and tbh I think Marvel and Disney are willing to pay a lot to keep the stars with them.

But we need to consider that they are aging so at some point they will be replaced.. :noparty:

But I think that they X-Man will come from another universe, we may see the X-Man vs Inhumans war so they kill the Inhumans for good and start with X-Man..

Another option is to change the origin of some X-Man character like they did with Scarlet and Quick

*I didn't read you post so idk wtf you are talking about, I'm just answering the title lol xoxo*

I think killing their characters would be a better options, like people can't cope with new actors when the old ones were really fit for the role. Marvel really does their casting right

Wanda gives up everything that she loves just to save the universe. But NO! Thanos had to have the ****ing time stone!

Gamora was just sad. They made one of the most beautiful and tragic death scenes in my opinion. And the funny thing is that Marvel was criticised for being always so non confrontational but in 2018 they dived into racism and made their bost brutal film to date.

The sad part about Gamora's death is that she can't really come back to life like the rest. It was tragic. And my heart broke when I saw Wanda has to see Vision wrecked up body like that.

And they also dived in to female empowerment with that scenes where Black Widow and Okoye help Wanda out. It's a minor detail but I noticed that

the soul stone can trap souls inside of a pocket dimension, I don't think any of the people who turned to dust are dead, I think they're in there.

The logical route would be once the Disney/Fox merger goes through, to introduce The Fantastic Four to the MCU along with Doctor Doom and Galactus.

Captain Marvel, Ant-Man & Wasp will definitely have a heavy part in Avengers 4.
