Diana Ross, Donna Summer and Tina Turner are also queens a lot of queer people of colour identify with - especially if you are of a certain generation. I honestly don't care because its all about taste, but there have been many LGB etc. artists who have come out with incredible music in recent years so I choose to celebrate them instead of choosing straight women to represent that side of me that they have not experienced.
