lowkey her graphic design team HAS improved thanks to lobster eye cus her website and social media has improved dramatically

Joanne is a safe album cover but the music itself is also safe so i can understand why they didn't go all out on it lol but i really hope lobser eye can turn it OUT for the next album

I Agree. Even with Joanne being safe I still think she should’ve used that illusion to represent Joanne, the woman, more.

May I Read You? 😎

I honest to God think that she will be back visually in a big way with this next era, whenever it may begin. The visuals at the JWT and Coachella were so fresh and different, and they still screamed classic Gaga to me. Can you imagine if the videos for Joanne, besides John Wayne, were close to the visual experiences the interludes on her shows for this era were? It would’ve felt cheap and try hard because the album doesn’t fit that. It’s different for tours I think because it’s supposed to be more stimulating than a 3 minute music video.

TBH I think that a major problem with ARTPOP was time. There are rumours that she scrapped the original ARTPOP and threw this one together last minute. Literally everything seemed rushed back then. And Gaga is someone who usually labours over her work until it's absolutely perfect.

I'm sure that given the time she would have made something beautiful and unique. I remember her obsessing about album covers in some Gagavisions back in the day.

And remember, the album was supposed to be released in 'a revolutionary way that we haven't seen music released before' which some believe was a digital download exclusively through the app.

The app which was supposed to have many more functions and was scrapped multiple times...

The whole albums issues stem from limited time, and limited support from her label who didn't want to sink money into anything above a standard pop album.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Koons Balls will forever remind me of those balls people put in their front yards.

Because that's literally what they are.

Jeff Koons grew up in American suburbs which were littered with these kinds of overused, tacky lawn ornaments, and this lifestyle later inspired his work. All of his work takes commonplace items or pop culture, and puts a fine-art spin on them.

He takes the tacky, kitschy, gazing ball ornaments and places them in a fine art setting, and makes them beautiful. That's the whole purpose. Same thing Andy Warhol did with his pop-art. And it's similar to what Gaga does with her art which she calls ARTPOP. That's why their collaboration was so perfect.

Jeff Koons and Andy Warhol take things we are used to seeing every day, or icons of pop culture, and turn them into pieces of fine art. Gaga takes fine art references, and places them into pop culture. Hence ARTPOP being the reverse of pop-art.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I think there's a loTTTtttt more to it than "she scrapped" it. Especially when she was going through the thing with her hip and realizing much of her team was only in it for the money. I'm surprised we got what we did tbh. But yeah, it was definitely all rushed.

Oh yeah of course there's a lot more to it! That's just the short version. She went through hell during the BTW-ARTPOP transition. I'm just saying that one part of it was her label giving her a time limit (despite her injuries, surgery recovery, and rehab), and also didn't want to support what she wanted to make.
