kupo 201 Posted April 2, 2013 Share Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) Always and Forever, Alyssa Edwards. Alyssa, over the weeks, has become one of my favorite contestants ever on this show. We've only had intentionally camp queens to this point, but Alyssa is that rare, pure breed of unintentional camp, and it made her an absolute joy to watch. I was hoping she could sneak into the finale somehow, even though her performance hasn't really warranted it(I mean, Phi Phi did it). This was a really weak episode all the way around in terms of the queens' performance. NOBODY really brought it in the telenovela. Jinkx was the best, but even she was TOO over the top to the point where it sort of ceased to be funny. And the runway this week was DIRE. Everybody sucked, lol. Jinkx definitely had the best idea, but the execution was sort of lackluster. Hopefully these girls get it together. I think Jinkx and Alaska are shoo-ins for the finale. They deserve to be at this point. They're far outperforming their competition. Jinkx will definitely have her biggest hurdle these last two weeks, though, as the final challenges always rely heavily on one's polished visual presentation. I think Roxxxy will probably round out the top three, though I'm still marginally pulling for Detox. Really, though, this season has totally become the Jinkx and Alaska Show. Obviously I want Alaska and Jinkx in the top 2 but the backlash if Alaska wins would be monumental from both Jinkx fans and everyone who thinks they're doing it because Sharon won season 4. Also I have 1 episode left in Season 1 and I'm not impressed. I was expecting Shannel (or however she spells it) or Ongina to win. I'm with you 100% on this. The 'dia de los muertos' concept was interesting, but the hot topic rags she had on were not. When I saw her come out, I thought for sure Santino's thirsty ass would tear her outfit to shreds, yet he didn't, really. kupo 201 Posted April 14, 2013 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Manila Luzon came to my alma mater just a little over a week ago and hosted the Rainbow Alliance's annual drag show, and I was able to see my first RPDR alumnus in person. So happy it was one of my absolute faves, too. She was amazing. The best was when she performed Hot Couture to close the show sporting some full on period realness. And not like, time period. Like, period period. It had a giant red spot over her uterus and was complete with a maxi pad belt and matching hair accessory.
