Taylor's promo is on another level tho...so I'm not surprised but wow...

Albums have declined so much as far as quality...but also people just care about the singles and streaming... :smh:

Beyonce? Gaga? Adele? Like....only Taylor? :emma:

Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!

It's because she isn't promoting. If by her not doing anything and chilling the album pulls these numbers, can you imagine if she had gone full 1989? lmao "underperformance". People will do anything to discredit her success streak by calling what is literally the most successful album of two years in the US an undeperformance (and hiding using "by her standards" to drag)

THIS

+ I don't doubt if she releases fan fav "I Did Something Bad" w a killer video and actually promotes it that she gets another #1 under her belt. Let's not give up on this record-breaking era yet.

I'm waaayyy older than most on this site. It used to be even so so performers sold 2 or 3 million albums. The good ones sold 7ish. The gods/goddesses sold 10 million plus. Oh well. There's a price for free music.

I'm one of the older crew myself and it's such a different world. It's crazy. I remember people fading from their glory days by having an album "only" sell one million copies. Plus who could forget when the industry brushed Madonna off for her "lackluster" sales of Erotica....at 2million.  Many mainstream artists enjoyed albums selling 4-5 million fairly easily.  But this was also back in the day when a number one song was TRULY a number one song. 😉

This is such a huge win. She literally dropped her album, did a few cute little appearances, then disappeared to enjoy life while the album sold itself.

Inferno

Im not surprised she sold this much as she is popular and the album was initially strongly promoted. That being said, its obvious she doesnt have the same stronghold she did with 1989 and Red. And I think after this album her decline will be more obvious in terms of sales and not just because people are selling less in general.

Yeah and that's her own fault. If she has no intention of promoting her own work anymore than I guess I have no real reason to care if it flops anymore

Well her last album sold 10 million. This one will sell UNDER 4 million. So the point would be pretty clear.

Beyonce went incognito and she became mysterious and the biggest presence in music today. Taylor did the same and no one cared lol.

Call me when ARTPOP/Joanne/whatever new album Gaga releases sells 2millions

Bling

I wonder if this includes or excludes the physical and digital copies of the album that came with the purchase of her little Target magazine 🤔

Call me when ANY Taylor album sells as much as The Fame. Or better yet, call me when Reputation sells as much as Born This Way.
