Yes, Lights will be devaluated. So will the new releases, like ALAYLM and PTA.

:emo:

It's such bulll****. Capitol has no respect. Such a dirty trick to pull. One word DESPERATE

They seek instant gratification with these #1's. Katy has literally lost me as a fan and I'm sure she's lost many others.... Katy will fizzle out in the future when she could have potentially been an artist with a long career. Or maybe she will continue to have hit singles, but mediocre album sales and low grossing tours... Edited by Klou

Katy never necessarily had the respect of anyone to begin with :laughga: . She does not even have respect for herself, she called herself a sell out, and I couldn't agree with her more. However, Katy is smart. Think of Madonna, who for the first 5 years of her career was just as basic as Katy but still pumped out those hits. Eventually, once Madonna had established a strong following and strong radio support, she allowed herself room to experiment with her work. I think that's what Katy is doing. She is getting strong radio support and making a seemingly strong following, so she can experiment with her work in the future. I actually think if Gaga had done it this way, it would of benefited her quite a lot.

She does with the general public.

Because they don't know that she discounts.

They didn't know that there was a solo version of E.T

All they know is that she makes catchy relate-able pop music that they eat up.

That is a good way of looking at it. But Madonna started risking herself early, like the Like a Virgin VMA performance.

I never really considered the VMA performance all that risky. But, yes, you could argue that Madonna was doing quite risky things at the beginning of her career, as opposed to Katy who always plays it safe. The closest to risky that Katy has ever reached is making a song about kissing a girl :laughga:.

I doubt the general public takes her music seriously AT ALL. I mean most of the time when some mentions Katy, they don't even mention her music, just her boobs :derpga:.

Taylor Swift's new song is going to be a huge pop smash. It's called "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". It sounds like an Avril/Ke$ha hybrid and it sounds like it was produced by Max Martin. Definitely not country. Watch it fly to the top of iTunes tomorrow morning.

WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER (Even the title is atrocious).

Honestly, it's one of the most cheesy and arrogant tracks that I've ever heard and I can not be any more disappointed and it sounds just like EVERYTHING on the radio but even more unbearable and annoying. Taylor Swift sounds like a 12 year old girl instead of the 22 year old that she is. If this qualifies as country music, then I officially deem that genre dead. They lyrics are no better. The video is only half the song, and quite frankly I have no interest in hearing the rest of it. I expected something better from her and, if the rest of her album is like this, I sure as hell hope it doesn't even touch the amount of sales of Speak Now. Regardless, expect to see this pop-drivel at the top of itunes once it goes for sale.

FOUND THE HQ VERSION: http://kevvyb---h.tu...er-ever-getting

The name of the album is Red. Yes, name your album after a color. So creative. :laughga:

I think she's done pretending to be country. The fact that she put out a single produced by Max Martin says it all. But I heard somewhere that she's remixing this for country radio.

Taylor Swift to Release Fourth Studio Album, ‘Red,’ October 22

Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated fourth studio album will be released worldwide on October 22nd, Taylor herself announced this evening during a live YouTube web chat with her fans.

Entitled Red, the album will be released on Big Machine Records and contains 16 tracks. After writing her last album (Speak Now) entirely by herself, for this record Taylor collaborated with several artists, producers, and songwriters she had always wanted to work with.

“For the last two years, I’ve been working on an album called ‘Red,’†Taylor says. “I called it ‘Red’ because of the tumultuous, crazy adventures in love and loss that it chronicles. In my mind, when you experience love that’s fast paced and out of control and mixes infatuation, jealousy, frustration, miscommunication, and all of those lovely emotions…in retrospect, it all looks red.â€

The first single from Red, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,†(written by Swift, Max Martin, Shellback) has already arrived at radio and will be available today at iTunes and Google Play, and beginning tomorrow worldwide at all digital retail outlets. Album pre-sale dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

Written and produced by Max Martin and Shellback. This has sellout written ALL over it.

Gaga's comeback is looking more promising by the moment. Taylor... What in the heck is she thinking. 2012 is definitely one of the biggest music flop years in recent history.
