Ozzy8923 9
September 18 is the same day that The Truth About Love comes out. We have a competition! I'm rooting for P!nk to get that #1 album. (FUN FACT: P!nk doesn't have a #1 album in the United States, just like Rihanna ).
Americano 31,061
P!nk will get #1 probably. Carly has no fanbase yet.
craig 680
Nicki's decision to go pop at all was a bad choice in itself. She lost pretty much all of her street cred to chase after an audience that doesn't buy albums. Rap is about selling machismo ... I think there are basic reasons why no women in the genre can ever be as big as Eminem or Kanye, no matter how talented. On the other hand, Nicki can't sing like Beyonce or relate to white girls like Gaga, Katy and Swiftie can ... and Rihanna is already occupying the ground Nicki is trying to claim. Kind of a toss up. jhonyguy04 3
I think she should have released Marilyn Monroe. It was highest after Starships when the album was released. That is how singles should be released and that is why I think Interscope did a good job with the BTW singles.
Cherry 17
Interscope did a horrible job with the single choices. Everything was rushed which is why "Marry the Night", a potential top ten if not #1 record, underperformed. "Judas" should NEVER have happened. "Marry the Night" should have been the second single for the summer (and should have come out a few weeks before the album, not in the middle of April interrupting "BTW"'s run), then "Yoü and I" in the fall, "The Edge of Glory" in the winter, and "Scheiße" in the spring. Kesha's debut sold well after Tik Tok, so no reason Carly can't do similarly well.

"MTN" was the fifth song she put out on radio in a period of 9 months. Of course it fizzled.

Judas fizzled so fast it's like it wasn't a real single in the US. MTN would have fizzled too as 2nd single. Yuyi flopped in Europe so there was a real opening for new Gaga, yet MTN did mediocre there anyway.

I can only see it as feeling rushed outside of the US where Judas was doing well.
Magoo 6
Magoo - Do you have any predictions for the top 5? I calculate only 5 points between #1 and #4 - essentially a dead heat for those positions It's down to what the men at Billboard choose. BB Hot 100 calculations for NEXT week based on 5.5 days of itunes bars, current airplay and a streaming estimate7 #position, sales (000's) + airplay (A.I. millions) + streaming (20Ks) = points, artist, song, (change on Hot 100) #1 135 + 165 + 29 = 236 Katy Perry WA (+3) #2 155 + 131 + 41 = 236 Carly Rae Jepsen CMM (-1) #3 113 + 159 + 44 = 233 Ellie Goulding Lights (-1) #4 218 + 81 + 35 = 231 Flo Rida Whistle (-1) #5 99 + 158 + 36 = 216 Maroon 5 Payphone ft. I would actually be somewhat relieved if Lights drops to #3 or below next week. That would mean she wouldn't have gotten #1 anyway... Still angry with Katy, though!
